Royal Tulip has the warmest staff and very clean, cosy but ultra modern rooms. The food is fantastic and the rooms are relatively affordable! Would recommend it to anyone coming to Nairobi but doesn't want to stay within the city:)
The interiors are great. Good ambiance. Sumptuous breakfast.
Staff at breakfast were a bit overhelmed. Parking and space outside bit of a challenge but attendants on hand to sort it out. I give it a 3.5 rating
Food is good. Ambience lovely. Service is okay too. Rooms are decent enough. They have tried to equip the conference halls with modern facilities. However, if you are anticipating a large turnout for your conference, you might consider other options. Their capacity is abit limited.
Went there today with my wife. Nice food and ambiance but unfortunately the waitress tried to steal from us. We gave her money, she never put one item on our bill, gave us less change that included the item missing on the bill and was not willing to hive us a receipt.
Best stay point in Nairobi...check out the roof top gym...sauna and steam bath....the customer.service unit is top notch...and the food ain't bad either!
Nice gym, nice meal, nice spa
Not as good as we had hoped. We stayed here two nights, one at the beginning and end of a safari trip. Overall the hotel is nice and modern and in well kept condition, however some of the details just sucked.
The first night we had to switch rooms because of a what looked like a small leak in the bathroom. This turned out to be a design problem with the shower, so every room we stayed in had the same problem: a small puddle in front of the sink after showering. Not a major issue but also not ideal, and easy to step into and make a mess.
The second night our AC was not working and the room was a sauna from the sun hitting the windows all afternoon. Supposedly, an engineer went to check out the situation while we were at dinner, but the only comment was "it's working". It very clearly was not. No other effort was made to accommodate us, they didn't even have a fan for us. We had to leave the door open for a couple hours to at least get some cool air from the hallway into our room. The next morning, after a very sweaty night, they admitted that there might be a problem with the room ACs on the whole floor, but did not offer any sort of apology or anything.
The restaurant food is good, but SO SLOW. It will take at least 45 minutes for some veggies and rice. A pizza takes an hour. We had two dinners there, both times we waited over an hour for pretty simple food. The second time they messed up the order and brought a veggie pizza instead of a pepperoni pizza. Our waiter just kept calling it a pepperoni pizza and insisted it was the correct order. We didn't have the patience to wait for another hour to get the order fixed so we ended up eating the veggie pizza. At least after complaining to the food manager the next morning they didn't charge us for the pizza.
The breakfast buffet selection was good and the food was nice. Good coffee too.
This could easily be a 4 or 5 star review, but the slow food and horrible way they dealt with the AC issue, just ruined it for us.
Clean room, not very exciting design. Room service was quite frustrating, since I had to call multiple times in order to get my dinner. On one occasion my food actually was not delivered at all... The most disappointing experience was the fact that after I have payed with my credit card on the POS device, the gentelmen on the reception actually typed my card number, expiration date and CVV in the accounting software. On my objection that this is an action that encourage fraud, I was ensured that my concerns will be addressed later through email. No email yet...
Hotel is nice but service is extremely poor.
Started with 4 stars considering this is a hotel in Kenya, Nairobi. However, having now spend 2.5 months in this hotel, I can’t give more than 2 stars. For Western standards this would definitely be a 2 star hotel. Friendly staff but very inefficient.
This hotel has 5 star ambiance and 1 star service! The manager/supervisor is super unfriendly and welcomed us with so much suspicion, we were uncomfortable the entire time we were there. One of my colleagues who was boarding there described the poor service she received and vowed never to go back. They need lessons on courtesy, starting with the manager, as they are pretty rude when dealing with patrons.
The Royal Tulip is a beautiful find. If you are looking for a quiet somewhat hidden place to have a romantic meal or to spoil yourself - this is a place to go. This place is all about luxury - if you want a place that gives you that feel then this is a place for you.
Last note: I really really recommend the butter chicken (boneless) :-) - its my new favourite.
Very nice ambience. Great views over Kilimani. The finishes are great. The staff are friendly. The rooms are well done and comfortable. Service is good. I especially loved their coffee. I recommend it
4 stars considering this is a hotel in Kenya, Nairobi. For Western standards this would be a 3 star hotel. Friendly staff but very inefficient.
Very beautiful and great ambience, great service too
Nice place for meetings and dating. Has warm staff and quite an ambience inside. Tea is awesome.
The hotel is very conveniently located and has a very chic interior. Special mention the staff who are super-friendly and helpful.
I was pleased with virtually everything about this hotel.
The location was serene, and well secured! There were security checks at the main gate and the hotel's main entrance.
The entire hotel was beautiful inside out. It is cosy and somewhat romantic.
Staff were friendly and ready to offer help. The reception area was quite receptive.
The online pictures of my room weren't exaggerated: my room was beautiful.
As Compliments, there was free Breakfast (varieties to choose from), toothbrush & toothpaste, hair shampoo and conditioner (the hair conditioner mosturises so well that I never bothered to apply hair cream on my natural hair after it's being used), rug slippers, and other essentials! For your trip, you probably only need to take your clothes/shoes and nothing else.
There was free steam bath and sauna facilities (male & female), salon, spa, well equipped gym, dance aerobics room, temperature-controlled Swimming pool and superfast (free) wifi in the entire hotel.
Iron & ironing board are available on request.
The Elevators only functioned with room card, prohibiting unauthorised access to the rooms.
Every floor had a beautiful living space with different theme and outlook.
At your request, the hotel can arrange Destination tours, using their own transport system.
However, I would have loved the toilet to have a hand-shower!
Also, if you are booking online (way cheaper), be sure to check the number of persons your selected room would fit, to avoid paying additional $30 (usd) per additional person, or you call the hotel for clarification!
I love my experience and would surely visit again!!!
Beautiful place. It's new and their customer service is excellent
Very tasty food. The staff are professional professional and keen on detail. I would recommend this hotel for dining.
A serene hotel located a few minutes from town centre with excellent conference and losing facilities. Friendly staff and state of art equipments, together with an outdoor restaurant on top of a large aquarium
Very best hotel experience I have ever had! I will be back! Hotel staff is very welcoming. Great atmosphere!
Amazing service. Great new place. Everyone should go there.
