These should be the best, cleanest and most secure movie theatres in Nairobi and always have had a good experience located in a mall that has everything else that you may want or need.
It's amazing, but when a good/ popular movie comes out it full- for a good few weeks
*2D and 3D*
Good cinemas. Big screens. No 3D offered
It's a good movie theater and they have American-style entry gates. Only that occasionally the machine for card payments doesn't work.
There's a separate ticket desk but remember, if you're buying snacks, you can get your tickets from the concession stand at the same time. It's a life saver when the lines are particularly long. Theatre can get chilly, so if you're with a young one or if you're a person who gets colder easily, pack a sweater!
This was our first trip to a theater in Nairobi. It was what I expected. Fairly good priced tickets and food. The theater itself was average. The sound didnt fit well with the movie so that made it hard to follow the movie. Average experience, average food, good prices.
Compared to IMAX the seating is a tad squeezed and so it's easy to get your toes stepped on during the movie. Other than that the cinema is great 👍
Fancy set up, modern and inviting if you compare with town setups! Perhaps more spacing in the seats would've helped with getting your toes not stepped on Wear good shoes!
I loved the experience. I would recommend. Looking forward to going there again
Amazing place to be for you and the kids especially with the kids play area on the 2nd floor below the cinema. The pop up market section is incredible!
Looking for a place to chill after a long day? This is it. Clean and well aerated movie theatre. The price for a movie screening is reasonable considering its location. The movie ticket I bought had a voucher redeemable for a meal at KFC. The drinks and bars at the snack are highly priced -like any other hotel or movie theatre compared to those in a supermarket.
We pre-booked to see the latest avengers film. The queue was massive, took nearly 30 mins to be served. They advertised an eatery ticket where you get chocolate, popcorn and a drink. They failed to mention you have to get a small popcorn, only a Mars bar (couldn't pick from the other 6 options) and and tiny kids coke or sprite bottle. When entering the cinema we found our seats were double booked and had to go back to the queue. A manager then tried to put us in another showing on the front row which he said was about to start, but had actually been running for 30 minutes. We eventually got placed on the front row at the far left of the cinema for a showing where the brightness was too low and having missed the start. All in all a fairly stressful and unpleasant finish, they seem hopeless.
Small screens.. below average sound effects. Better watch movies in home theater
The 3D experience was rather good, to say the least. The place was cozy, but quite squeezed. The lines were actually long and quite annoying considering that it was 9pm. Good customer service. Tickets were fairly priced so I'd recommend.
The cinema staff are always willing - thank you.
Even after booking for tickets we have to wait in the long line to pick our tickets. The line isn't moving fast because some idiots are not done ordering their popcorn and hotdogs. I am not here to miss the start of the movie. Very very poor service at the stall.
I feel very sad when I can't get a bottle of water during 5 minutes break. A long que in front of stall and break just 5 minutes. The service at stall is very slow.. Sorry but you can improve it .
Lively place to spend your time
It’s amazing and private. It’s normally not full so it’s the best place to take someone when you want to enjoy movies on low key
Greatest chill spot and cinema experience
Great cinema, reasonably priced. Weekdays tend to have offers, check their Facebook page.
Decent, small cinema with all the usual amenities. Seemed to be focused on Western and Bollywood movies. The entrance is unusual though - you walk into a toy store on the top floor of Westgate Mall and head up an escalator to find yourself in the cinema. There didn't seem to be any obvious signs outside that the cinema is effectively within and above the toy store.
Great theatres with good seats. Work on eradicating the mosquitos thougha nuisance while watching
Planet Media Cinemas West gate is the best place to watch movies. The West gate theatre has 7 screens which means different movies can be shown at the same time without having to inconvenience anyone. Their charges are very affordable. Unlike other cinemas they charge 600 shillings for 2D movies and 650 for 3D movies. The one thing they stand out for is that they sell 3D glasses for 250 shillings and it will be all yours once you purchase it. Any other time a 3D movie is being shown you can carry your glasses with you and as a result, you won't have to keep wiping the lenses to get rid of the previous' user finger prints like you'd have to do in other cinemas.
They have a very classy foyer where you can sit on couches as your wait for your movie to begin.
Customer service is a five star too.
Loved the place.
The sound quality is not good but the picture quality is little bit good. Apart from this the staff are very cooperative.Bollywood New movies can be also seen here. One more thing before starting movies they shows Ad around 20 minutes that is so boring.
Not too crowded, lovely weekday deals, good quality screens and sound
One of the best places in nairobi to watch movies and entertaining documentaries. Plus being in a large mall has it's perks of having a food court and shopping area.
