Nairobi's premier gem that offers a wonderful connection to the wild. Here you have a chance to see Lions, Rhinos, Buffalo, Leopards if you are especially observant. That is 4 of the big five spotted in a day! There are a host of other animals to see as well. The best times are early morning between 5:30 am and 9:00 am and late evening between 05:30 pm and 07:00 pm.

I really enjoyed the game drive,, saw 5 lions ,rhino, giraffe, warthog. It's so nice to see this animals at a close range.. Was lucky to bump into a lion that was on the road walking towards our car,, can't complain. It was a nice terrifying experience. Remember to tag a tour guide with you if it's your first time, its a big park and you can get lost if you don't have one

Good park and great memories.
To have a good time, you have to:
- visit too early 06:15 am. 🦁 gets breakfast around this time.
After 10:00, animals are avoiding the sun.
- get enough drinking water before entering.
At entrance, you have to mark the gate in maps to get maps support at exit time.
There's
- no enough signs link your position to exit gates.
- some exit gates are for staff only.

It's nice to leave the park about 11:00am.

This is a fantastic real wild animal park to visit. Remember in the whole world it is the only park in a city (Nairobi City). See the big 5. Go into the animal orphanage and see what dedication by the Kenya Wild Life people has done!

It is accessible by bus and by public means. Do not miss.

One of the only city's with a national park which has the big 5!
If that isn't beautiful eniu, I don't know if anything will ever come close.

Nairobi national park is the only park within the Nairobi city confines. Having all the big 5 except elephants. And over 400 spices of birds and with a vast savanna landscape.
It is worthy to take early morning game drives and evening too.

It’s always better to visit the park using a land cruiser. It costs about Kshs. 7000 to hire one from the park. It is way worth it, because you’ll get to see all the animals that are considered “the big five”

If you are going for a game drive, the best time to be there is at 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The earlier you go, the higher your chance of seeing the Lions up close. They'll be on the roads soaking up the heat rising during the night. They are also likely to be feeding before it gets too hot to stay in the open field. Lots of wild animals to see

I thoroughly enjoyed the safari. What's really great is that most of the animals gather near the water points. Rhinos and Buffalo were my favorite and easy to spot. A great mini-safari for family and friends. Highly Recommended

This is a great mini version of safari with most of the animals close to Nairobi. There are no elephants and lions can be hard to spot sometimes. Overall this is highly recommended, if there is a chance of going with a private vehicle its the best and most cost effective way to go explore the African wildlife.

Where else do get to see 3 of the big 5 game in the wild, while still within a city. Roads are well graded and marked. Advisable to do game drives early in the morning or evening.

Extremely easy to get to. It could have better signage. We were lucky to see baby cheetahs once and a family of male female ostriches and 17 of their chicks.

It's wonderful to have a huge national park right in the heart of the city. We have loved visiting the park for day trips just to get away and feel like we're truly in the African bush. It's fun to see the skyline behind the animals, but you can also get to parts of the park where you feel hundreds of miles from civilizations. Some of the roads are rough for taking your private vehicle, so be careful if you do not have 4x4. Also shoot for going on a weekday, as the tourists can really spoil the atmosphere on the weekend. And get to the gate well before it opens unless you want to stand in a long line to pay your fees.

Wonderful place to visit. Guided tours available but we took own vehicle in and drove around for hours. You can just drive around as you please (but stay n vehicle). Fantastic for photography. Almost no facilities once you're in (there's a picnic area with simple toilets part way round on one of the roads).

Great place to escape the noise of the city. A couple of great spots for picnic/cook-out/'koroga' with family and friends. The epitome however, is the game drive..if you lucky, you can also get to see the lions.

The Nairobi National Park and the nature walk are definitely in the must-do list of things in Nairobi. Drive through the expansive park seeing all form of wildlife for example buffaloes, giraffes, gazelles, lions, salamander among others. Pack your care with snacks( but don't litter or feed the animals) and stake out the animals are you enjoy the drive. I'd recommend a 4 wheel drive preferably with a sunroof to add to the experience. I'd advice you do the nature walk and the drive on two separate days. The walk is great on weekdays as there are not so many people. Also you can ask to get into the leopard and lion cages, that's always a thrill. For the drive, it's best when it's rather hot because the animals gather at the watering holes.

We got here at 6am and by 8am we'd seen lions, giraffes, buffaloes, deer and loads of birds. Pretty landscape too with diverse vegetation!
Most of the roads are accessible by salon car.

Downside is that the picnic sites aren't secured. At the ivory burning side some visitors were sitting and resting while a lion was relaxing a good 50m away.

Overall: Bring camera with proper zoom and definitely come early before the animals disappear in the bushes!

Just outside Nairobi, you can even see the buildings from the park. And even though you can enjoy all the iconic animals. During the 3 hour visit we saw Lions, several types of gazelles, Giraffe, Zebra, Jackal, Buffalo and several types of birds. I was only missing the Rhinos, but still very nice experience.

It's one of my favorite places to visit. Amazing views of the park with the Nairobi in the background. Great variety of wild animals. There's the Nairobi Safari Walk for those who don't fancy a game drive and the animal orphanage that has an overload of lions.
