The park is alright and has a number of animals that you can see. I'm in love with the fact that the zebras, monkeys and impalas roam around freely. There is a picnic site that I think needs more maintenance. riving in to go towards the hotel in the park is also a bit rough but I suppose that comes with the territory. Just like any other park going in the morning or later in the afternoon is best, you get a better view of the animals. Carry water or a drink because you can't really get some when inside but also remember to throw your trash or carry it with you!
Pleasant little park with beautiful big trees right by the lake. Obviously popular for picnics at the weekend, with impala and zebra strolling around free and other animals in enclosures (leopard, lion, giraffe etc). Feels as if you are miles away from the city, cool and green. Did I say beautiful trees???!
Superb sanctuary. Antelopes and zebra roam freely amongst the pens containing lions, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, ostrich, monkeys, rhino and giraffe. A good work out if one walks to the viewpoints on the lake and the old railway line. Local fishermen have their boats ready for trips on the lake. A luxury lodge also exists within the sanctuary.
This place is dope. There are a variety of wild animals and even the famous Roan Impalas. There is a nature trail that is some kilometers long with a variety of birds accompanying you with a very nice breeze coming from the nearby lake. It is a nice place to reflect on your life the monkeys here are free roaming and very interactive with humans it is a nice place to come even with kids the zebras are also roaming those who want to do camping this is also a good place to come with either family or with friends. There are a number of local Hotels around. You can have a beautiful sunset view from this place and even motor boat rides from the hippo point that just around. You cannot visit Kisumu without visiting hippo point
Very beautiful place. Really enjoyable. Camping site also available with security. One can enjoy peace. A hotel located inside with quartersit's a mind blowing place. If one wants to know the real peace of life than this is the place to come ..great.
Want to see caged animals, animals in their native home? this is the place to visit.
Located along the shores of lake Victoria; provides a good view of the water and also an opportunity to view hippos at kiboko bay
I have been here about four times but the experience keeps getting better. This is actually an animal sanctuary where you'll come across buffaloes, ostriches, lions, tigers etc. It's located near Lake Victoria, giving an adventurous experience. Adults pay 215 while those under 18 years pay 125. Payment is strictly via MPESA, no cash payments. Within the park there's Eco lodge good for drinks, meals and accommodation. Weddings, meetings, parties are also held here. There's a stand by ferry for those who would want to take their experience a notch higher.
Wonderful place with nice food. You can also visit animals. You can see Zebras, antelopes and hippos easily.
A very nice place to spend with your family and your loved ones. Its also a good picnic site with many varieties of wild animals.
Nice locale with diverse wildlife. Zoo format for carnivores and game reserve format for herbivores. Cool place for family outings.
The only natural vegetation in Kisumu. Wide range of free range Impalas. Got some zebras. Variety of birds. The Lake Victoria shores get into the park. Long beautiful trails deep in the vegetation. Pay at the entrance - no cash, mobile money/credit/debit cards accepted.
The Impala Eco-Lodge is seated deep in the park. Enjoy the breeze and the great service
Lovely wedding location with Magnificent view of the lake!
The bar was awesome and the food too.
You get also to see some animals while within the ecolodge, which is great.
Spent a couple of days with my family (all 6 of us)here and it was amazing!!! The staff is do friendly. You definitely get value for your money. There's a baby pool for younger children and an adult pool which is rather deep beyond the stairs. The pool and the restaurant have an amazing view of the lake. There's a pier leading a little into the lake with an amazing view. If you want an up close experience with nature, this place is especially amazing. The rooms are great log and clay cabins with great interiors. I highly recommend the Impala Eco Lodge Hotel for families or intimate vacations. No regrets.
While there are many wonderful animals here, it doesn't seem well kept and the habitats for the animals are in poor shape. We didn't have a guide, but a guy just kind of followed us around awkwardly as we looked at the animals. It was nice to see Lake Victoria, but watch out for the safari ants. We nearly got eaten alive. Our visit in the park only lasted about 30 minutes, and we probably won't return.
I love this place, always have! They have most animals, leopard, 2 very friendly resident cheetahs, ostrich, buffalo, warthogs, giraffe, zebras, impala's Ofcourse, a smattering of monkeys, African greys, a huge hyena! They had a rhino but it unfortunately died from a black mamba bite. There is also the eco lodge which is a good place to stop for a cold soda after a hot afternoon of looking at the animals. The sunsets over lake Victoria are beautiful!
It’s a very good park but to me it seems like it’s deteriorating a bit because the animals are becoming less by the day. There are wild animals enclosures plus others walking freely like monkeys, gazelles and zebras. It’s a great place to bring young kids and there’s a hotel inside the park.
Best collection of random wildlife species you can get in western Kenya. Definitely great for animal and nature lovers.
One of the best hope of the big five species. Hospitable rangers, sunset deck, world class eco Lodge, peaceful and animal friendly picnic site and spectacular view of the world largest fresh lake Victoria.
It is a very nice place suitable for people of all ages. With the experience of an excellent environment and breeze from lake Victoria.
Eco Lodge has an amazing view of the lake with wonderful sunset view, delicious meals and good services.Enjoyed the nature walk and good view of the big 3.
I like this place so much. Nice and variety of animals. Though a baboon tried to grab my phone. Anyway I enjoyed everything else
Great sanctuary, animal friendly environment. If you are in town and would wish to be in the wild. This park is your best get away place. Just come here have fun and return refreshed. There is Lion, hyena, Leopard "Kwach" Ostrich, Dik Dik among other animals. To the organization Kudos.
