Typical Java really. Average service, average food, good ambience and a nice environment to hold a meeting
Great ambience and good service. Food is always fresh.
As Java-addict, I can't give it a bad rating. Easily accessible from Mombasa Road and from the back and easy parking.
Good for quick business meetings and breakfast. I just find that in 'lunch-rush-hour' the quality of the food is dropping slightly.
Still: Recommend
All Javas are great, with great menus. Capital centre has warm client service. Also a quiet place to have coffee as you work on your laptop. Quietly.
So Java is the number one franchised coffee house in Kenya and a firm favourite within the urban coffee culture. I have had some very consistently conflicting experiences in quite a number of their coffee shops in the last 10 years. As far as drinks go, their signature coffees have remained good over the years and the same largely goes for their cake and pastry section. I am awarding 3 stars because I have found that their quality control in the food and other beverage (smoothies, milk shakes, juices) sections to be highly erratic and varying depending on which Java coffee shop you're at. I have had a number of less than ideal experiences with the food and service to feel quite disappointed. Since I got served a fish fillet with a heart of stone (still frozen and yuckily raw on the inside) at the Adams arcade branch, I have stayed safely away from the fish. My experiences with the Nyali branch in Mombasa have involved overly iced and runny smoothies and once (GASP) the whole restaurant had no chips!!!!! Think on that for a moment! Most recently, I have noticed that the rice is not long grain basmati but some form of sticky, fat grained variety reminiscent of a well cooked boarding school lunch. I did eat half of it but in my defense, I was quite starved and drowned out any sense of self esteem in a bottle of hot sauce, in retrospect I will not be ordering the rice again. I must however say, that in other areas I understand why they are so popular, their carrot cake, banana bread, chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cake remain classically satisfactory. All in all, somebody needs to keep an eye on that slippery slope of poor quality that they are sliding down very effectively but in terms of presence (so many accessible branches), ambience, coffee and pastries, definitely worth a try. Their signature art pieces are also really quite vivacious and delightful.
I love the place. Very affordable and comfortable. Simply the best.
Great coffee, good customer service, good quality food. Best place for a meal @ Capital Centre Nairobi .
Convenient place for catching up or a meeting or brainstorming over a cup of coffee. It's a quiet place to work from on your laptop boosted by their high speed wifi . Their meals are fresh, tasty and delicious.
Java house is the best. Not to mention their outstanding services
Awsome food and amaizing staff all should try
I so much love the cake and ginger coffee. But then they have a very small space to accommodate trooping customers
Always love Java cakes especially the black forest and chocolate fudge cake. Never disappoints!
Good place to stop and rest off the main road. Little noisy if you want to relax for a bit bit good selection as usual for a Java.
Fantastic food on the go and convenient in case you're looking for somewhere nice to meet either for business or leisure.
The staff and the service is excellent. It gets a little noisy sometimes being next to the food court.
I always go back for the food. The problem is service..its always packed and it takes forever to get a waiter to give you a menu and forever for the waitress to come take your order. Please do not go there if you are in a hurry.
Good food and services like WiFi and electrical outlets for charging. No views outside is the only real minus
Great coffee. Mature crowd. However the service is slow.
Food and ambiance is always good for a quick meal and meeting friends over a good coffee.
Fairly small and busy. I like working from coffee shops but this one is a bit too busy to work here. It's the standard Java house setup and colors, nothing notably different. The choc chip milkshake is really good to get on the go.
Java House does a great job training it's people. The service I got here was not very different from other Java restaurants. The flavoured iced teas though need to be standardised. They vary in quality.
Got my order wrong. It was a take out so discovered when I got home.
The food was tasty though.
In standard Java style this is warm with red earthy tones, spacious and well designed. Standard Java menu.
One of my favourite Java restaurants in Nairobi. Why? It has great staff. They really go out of their way to ensure a client enjoys the experience. Thumbs up Java Capital Centre
Service great. Food great as always except for the scrambled eggs a tad dry even after a plea. The friendliness of the staff make you overlook all the other things.
Considering the local standards, it is a good place to have a fast meal or enjoy a coffee. It is not crowded and do not need to wait much time for the food. Well located in the Capital Centre and near a supermarket and shops.
