Spectacular Nature, Cultural and Wildlife Conservation friendly camp. It's a hospitable camp which employs100% locals i.e Samburu people. The Guides are Elephant experts who know all families and bulls by names and work closely with Save the Elephants researchers. I urge people around the world to come and have the best wildlife experience and spend and get to know Samburu Elephants.

My husband and I stayed at the Elephant Watch Camp for 5 nights in February 2018, and everything about our time there was delightful. I have previously been on several safari trips in Kenya and Tanzania, and Elephant Watch is by far the best experience.
The Camp itself is located in the Samburu region of Kenya, which offers a rich variety of wildlife - such as elephants, leopards, lions, zebra, gazelles, giraffes, etc. I would highly recommend the region if you love elephants. No where else in Africa can you have the same experience of seeing so many herds and at such a close range. At several times during our safari, the elephants came within a few metres from our truck. The Elephant Watch guides are highly trained at spotting many different types of animals and predicting where in the park they will next move to. So many of the other safari guides in the park kept trying to ask them where the wildlife was!
The staff at Elephant Watch are some of the kindest and most considerate. They are from the local Samburu tribe and will make you feel right at home. As the Camp manager, Saba Douglas-Hamilton does an excellent job ensuring that her guests are enjoying themselves and are comfortable.
The food is also excellent - and worth the trip alone! I am a vegetarian and my husband is a keen carnivore, and the kitchen staff easily accommodated both of us. I am still amazed by the quality and taste of the cuisine. It was by far the best I've had whilst on safari. What's more, we had the choice of dining al fresco under the Kenyan stars during dinner, which made our meals even more spectacular.
Finally, the tents were beautifully decorated and designed in perfect harmony with nature. They cater to your every comfort, and my husband and I agreed that we had some of the best nights of sleep while we were there.
You will definitely not regret visiting the Elephant Watch!response / report this review -

My first visit to Samburu and a great place to spend my nights in. Elephant Watch is an ecological camp with great staff, great service and great home-made food. No air-conditioning required as the tents are airy and tastefully furnished.
The elephants roam freely and in the morning my wake-up call was an elephant by the tent A beautiful sight to behold! The workers always ask for when you want to take a bath as the warm the water is boiled and put it in the uniquely created shower. Water to brush your teeth is also in a special bottle. No water wastage as all is measured well. It's a great feeling that you're playing your part in conservation.
This is a great authentic place and you enjoy nature and the peace around. Do carry warm clothing as it gets very windy in the morning and evening!response / report this review -

Everything about this camp was magical. The staff seemed to become family and the animals were right at home as well. It was as close to the wild as you could get while still enjoying luxurious amenities. I was more than comfortable in every way and loved every bite of food, which there was plenty of. This was an incredible experience that I hope is not just experienced once in my lifetime.

My favorite place ever. Amazing camp erected from eco-products in Samburu. Intimate, beautiful, and the safari's were world-class, I could watch the elephants all day. I can't wait to go back to this special place.

This is a magical place. You get an unforgettable experience with the elephants as well as seeing all the other animals in the Samburu with your friendly and knowledgeable driver and spotter. The accommodation is excellent in tents set back from the river in the cool shade of the trees. The food would be equivalent to a high class restaurant and everyone is so friendly and helpful. You feel like you are staying with Saba and her family's home, not in a commercial camp.
