The food is awesome, so are the beddings and tents .hot water showers, baby cribs, you can get a tent with two beds if your baby is big for crib. Loved the experience.very efficient service. Definitely going back soon

Auf dem Rückweg vom TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK nach Mombasa besuchten wir ein interessantes Massai-Dorf. Probleme gab es aber erst einmal mit der "Eintrittsgebühr". Der Häuptlingssohn wollte 1.000 Ksh p. P. (wir waren vier Personen). JUTTA verhandelte auf 500 Ksh herunter. Dafür kauften JUTTA und ich zum Schluß noch sehr schönen Massai-Schmuck für uns beide. Auffallend war die sehr große Herzlichkeit dieser Menschen. Und die Kinder haben JUTTA (sie ist Erzieherin) sofort in ihr Herz geschlossen und folgten ihr auf Schritt und Tritt (so etwas ähnliches hatten wir bereits in der Wüste Thar in Radjasthan/Indien erlebt). Da ich im rechten Ohr einen Ohrring trage, war ich für die Massai einer der ihren (ihre Ohrläppchen sind geschlitzt)und ich durfte auch mittanzen. Uns wurde auch das Feueranmachen gezeigt, in dem Holz aufeinander gerieben. Mein Versuch schlug allerdings fehl. Zum Üben zu Hause hat man uns die beiden Teile (Stab und Brett) geschenkt. Als Gastgeschenk wollte man uns rohes Ziegenfleisch mitgeben. Wir mussten aber dankend ablehnen.

Highly recommended, Crocodile Camp is situated right outside Masai Mara's Talek Gate across the Talek river on the banks of river. Operated by Dietmar, German native with Kenya as his second home, running the camp. A very nice place to stay and enjoy your Masai Mara safari without paying through the nose. Great staff, good semi tents, with each tent quipped with bathroom and hot running water. Very good, helpful and friendly staff. Tony the manager of the camp and Philip the bar tender are worth mentioning. The two Masai's, John and William are amazing, For a successful game viewing make sure you have one of them with you during the game drive. If you want to have a great time with out the dent that the other lodges inside the Mara cost, this is the place to be at. Few things to consider, make sure you get the camps by the river bank, get William or John as the guide for game drives and ask Mr. Dietmar to help arrange for off-road driving license - this is key.
