I volunteered at CBSM Kimilili primary school for 3 weeks in December 2011. The school provides free education to 400 orphans and vulnerable children. Going to Kimilili was an incredible experience: I saw how each of us can actually make a material difference to the children of Kimilili. CBSM is a truly remarkable school with dedicated, highly motivated teachers and staff, and fantastic kids. Without this school the kids of this area would grow up illiterate and have a limited future, instead they have a chance in life. I thoroughly recommend volunteering either helping from Europe or in Kimilili. I hope to return to Kimilili this year and see the wonderful new classrooms, catch up with the teachers and see our 400 pupils.
