Beautiful view, nice staff and fresh meal. I'll visit here again!
If you want ocean view, should notice them when you reservate a room.
wonderful stay
Very unique town of Boathouses.
The view is great & the owner although don't speak english, he is very friendly. You have to take a 45-60min local bus ftom Amanoshidate Stn to get here, but the sights along the route is awesome countryside & along the coastline.
If time permits, you can stop at one of the seafood restaurants along the route for lunch.
Getting there from Kyoto is an adventure !
This is one of my favourite part of Japan - highly reccommended ! Booking the ryokan may ve a bit of problem as mentioned by other viewers.
Thanks to our japanese colleague who called to book the rooms for us.
We called Water Front Inn and reserved a room in Japanese. if you don't speak Japanese, you can write to the Tourism Office who will reserve for you.
Over the phone, we were told the total price including two meals is 11,000 yen each but in the end we paid 13,000 each plus tax. Not sure if it's because of the crab served during dinner.
The room is very small, only 8 tatami? After they made the futon, there was no place to pack or unpack. Yes it overlooks the bay but they have some workers working on the patio so we had to keep the curtain down.
The reason why I still rated 4 star is because of the meals! For dinner, we each had an entire CRAB, lots of Sashimi (from bori) , grilled fish, a snail and all kinds of pickles and soup. It was one of the best meals I've ever had in a half-board ryokan.
I'd still highly recommend this place because of the meal quality!
