Lovely shrine built as a tribute to Iemitsu, grandson of Ieyasu. Huge stone lanterns and scary god statutes

Gorgeous temples and shrines in a less busy section of the World Heritage Area in Nikko. Definitely worth a visit!

Away from the main touristic road this temple is in my opinion the best one to visit for about 450yens. You may also attend to a small ceremony.

The stairs leading up to this temple provide some awesome views of the surrounding forest and landscape.

This temple it's a mausoleum for Iemitsu Tokugawa (third Tokugawa Shogun). Here is his tomb, but you can not access. Unique temple style.
