I stayed there last year for 4 days as a getaway from the big city life. I originally booked it for 3 days but I just decided to stay longer. The staff and owner were super nice and the breakfast was delicious.

The hotel has a museum background, and judging from the untouchable items leftovers, I was not surprised that it had to change its business model. As its history has to be preserved, there is nothing new there. Except for the professional service, every facility is basic and small, including the hot hubs!

Typical japanese inn (Ryokan). Old but in good nick.

The check in was smooth and Warm.

Very really enjoyed the stay

The toilet are a little bit smelly (sea odor from the pipe) but Nothing unbearable. The cleaning is made on daily basis even more often.

Disclaimer : as traditional accommodation, you will have futon. The futon thickness is better than in usual hotel but the traditional grain pillow is hard because it is made to sleep on your back not on the side. Don't expect fluffy pillow.

Great historic museum for over 200 years that come to be a uniquely nice hotel. Grand spacious hall is exquisite and a must-see. Hostess and host are really friendly and helpful. Calligraphy lovers should definitely love since there are genuine calligraphy arts by famous people for decades' history.

Very nice and friendly staff. Wonderful ryokan. We were asking direction towards the ryokan and the train staff called the hotel staff picked us up when we arrived.

Everyone was really friendly! When I came back all wet and cold to get my luggage they let me hang out, dry off and even served me some coffee to warm me up! (Location is perfect for the ferry, not too far from the station, and the breakfast was delicious.)

The same family has run this ryokan for 13 generations and it show. It is filled with beautiful artwork and the rooms are spacious. The managers speaks very good english and was very welcoming and helpful telling me about the local area and how to get places. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.
