  Lovely ocean views and stunning sunrise. Hotel is very traditional Japanese style with everyone walking around in Yukata Kimonos and I think I was the only foreigner. Service was excellent and the welcome was warm. There are a few shops downstairs and a nice onsen and pool. Didnt try the restaurant food. Breakfast was very Japanese style.

  Spectacular location with rooms facing the sea! Service mediocre and food lousy! Not worth 400 $ per night ( for two pax)

  This is my 2nd time to stay in this hotel. Beautiful sea views, spacious environment, games for children, Japanese dance show at night, etc. You won't forget it. But the buffet dinner is a bit less attractive than before. I couldn't find the yummy Awa chicken wings this time.

  This is certainly one of my least favorite Marriott properties. I am a platinum elite member and typically stay 100+ nights a year in Marriott properties around the world. Here are my pros and cons:
  
  Pros:
  -The Japanese style buffet is pretty awesome with a wide selection of food. I didn't find the sashimi up to snuff but everything else was pretty tasty.
  -All rooms are ocean-facing and most mornings afford you a great sunrise.
  -At first the staff was a little awkward but I got the feeling that they do not see too many foreign visitors. They eventually warmed up to us which made my friend and I feel very welcomed. The staff at the buffet was our favorite, smiles for days.
  -A little secret, though it may take some explaining you can drink "all you can drink" for 90 minutes in the evenings for ¥2500 ($21 USD). I probably shouldn't tell you this!
  -The awa odori dance in the evenings is pretty entertaining.
  -Decent onsen
  
  Cons:
  -You are literally in the middle of nowhere. No 711, no supermarket, no non-hotel restaurants. Not only is there nothing to do (aside from whirlpools and the art museum) but public transportation is extremely difficult. The JR pass will do nothing for you here, even on the JR bus! It felt like JR was punishing us. Day trips are either time-consuming or just impossible.
  -The rooms are tiny which isn't unusual for Japan. Our only upgrade option was a Japanese style room which I just wasn't feeling after a long day of travel.
  -Absolutely zero Marriott benefits at this place. Generally international Marriotts are the best but this one failed miserably. Your only benefit, mind you this is offered to anyone staying more than 2 nights, is free coffee and tea and the LUNCH buffet. Who wants lunch at a hotel when you are out sightseeing? Clearly they wanted you to stay and spend money at their resort. I can get past not having a concierge lounge and no free breakfast, but the most annoying thing that I experienced was the embarrassing escort out of the JTB lounge area. This area has self-serve coffee, juice, tea, and an arrangement of sweets. Typically you would expect this to be a members area-boy was I wrong. I was kindly and abruptly removed from the area just by peeking at the sweets. Again, expect nothing as a Marriott member.
  -This place had an eerie feeling all around that took a few days to get past. First was the lack of Marriott member acknowledgement. Second was the weird fishing pond outside. Third was the claw game that you would normally play to get toys or other gifts, but no, you only play for bags of sweet potatoes
  
  Perhaps the only ideal guests for this resort are families with small kids during the summer time. Otherwise best of luck to you!

  The hotel looks a bit old. Some of the staff seem not to be well trained. Besides that, the hotel is OK. The rooms are nice and spacious. The views are very nice. The baths are good too. There's a nice swimming pool and you can enjoy beach activities. The food is good and varied.

  Room is clean and very spacious. Hotel also provides many activities.
  
  The only insufficient thing is the direction from Kosuku Naruto. It would be much better to provide a map in website and have a sign board at bus stop.
