We really enjoyed our stay here - from the tea and sweet on arrival to being able to choose a yukata to wear during our stay, and the delicious food and very helpful and friendly staff. An overall great experience. We'd recommend booking the private bath if you can too!
For us is first time at a Ryokan and we are loving it. Service is spectacular, extremelly kind. Breakfast is awesome. The rooms are the typical japanese room with futon and you have two yukatas, one for sleep and one to make a nice walk at that beautiful city.
Excellent service, felt very welcomed and looked after. Staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way for us. Room was great and really enjoyed the public bath. Highly recommended.
I guess you can consider this a city Ryokan that caters to foreigners. Which perhaps makes it seem slightly less authentic but, to be honest, is mostly a good thing.
It's very close to the train station. The greeting is very friendly and in-depth when you arrive. The rooms are reasonably spacious and quiet and cool in the summer.
The dinners and breakfast are large but not much larger than other Ryokans I've been to in the area. The dishes focus on local specialties. They explain everything they set before you . You're encouraged to arrive to dinner in your Yukatas and it feels great! Most of the other foreigners are doing the same :).
There are hot baths (men and women are separate) where you can bathe and shower. We used them around the early dinner time and had them to ourselves. Each room also has its own shower if you're not comfortable cleaning yourself with others around.
What a wonderful place! The staff are respectful and helpful, the futons are very comfortable and the rooms big, the privet hot spring bath is fine though not very hot, the food at the restaurant is good. I like that they ask you to choose your kemono so you will feel more like your self instead of just giving you what they give all guests, they would help you in wearing in too. It's great that you can pay in credit card. Good location but a bit expensive.
Worked here for a month, and I can tell you the staff are always thinking about how they can improve the customers stay.
A very good value ryokan. Well located near Takayama JR station. The staffs are very friendly
Very convenience location, about 5 mins walk from JR station, room and lobby are cozy in Japanese style. Staff is very nice and kind. Breakfast is good with choice of American and Japanese type.
Lovely, cozy place to experiece Japanese hotel & their culture. Service is nice and they recently hired few english speaking staff. Highly recommended.
