The okonomiyaki itself was delicious. HOWEVER, we came to this restaurant hoping to have an okonomiyaki experience where the okonomiyaki was cooked before our eyes. Unfortunately the okonomiyaki arrived ALREADY COOKED onto our table grill which was a major disappointment for our group.

Be ready for a bit of a wait before you can get a table. Popular among tourists and locals too. The space is really tight and if you're sent to the second floor, it's kind of a cramp in the staircase. But the wait is worth it!

Staff is very rude. Pulled the back of my backpack to get my attention. Worse service experienced in the entire of Japan. Pity since their food was not too bad.

Luckily we didn’t have to wait long to get in. Their style of okonomiyaki is not my type. The batter has little texture with the cabbage too finely chopped. Flavor was quite bland. I’ve had better ones in Sydney. Really not worth the hype.

The worst experience I have ever got among all Asian countries. Very rude, unfriendly, bad attitude and impolite staff, especially the male staff Shixx! Discrimination on Asian tourists, services standard and attitude are totally different to tourists and local Japanese customers. Better to write a notice "Japanese only" outside the door!

Not worth to spend long time to queue up for such poor restaurant, without a happy mood plus a tourist unfriendly atmosphere, you would definitely not enjoy any delicious food there. I will never come back again and going to suggest all my families and friends not to give a go neither.

If the owner of this restaurant is not care about their service, I believe they will still earning a fortune everyday, but soon would be famous of their poor services internationally too one day. You should be shame that you are damaging the image of Japan.

Literally never leave reviews but feel the need to here after an otherwise amazing food run in Tokyo. Patronising and rude waitstaff, dismissive service, $7 surcharge for card(?), deeply average food. Ew

The okonomiyaki taste good, but the waiting time and the price is a big negative point. If you're not a big fan of okonomiyaki you can easily find another restaurant that serve okonomiyaki in dotonburi with more affordable price and less than half an hour waiting time.

Good okonomiyaki restaurant slightly off the center street of Dotonbori. The Mizunoyaki (house special) is a mix of pork, minced meat, squid, shrimp, scallop, octopus and is the one I recommend out of the menu. The okonomiyaki is flavorful and filling without it being too heavy or salty.

The experience of being able to see it made from beginning to end right in front of you is worthwhile but questionable once there is over an hour wait. A tip is to line up before the opening at 11am or to go at off-hours.

When a place becomes really popular, they sometimes think they are better than they are. This is one of those places. You won't miss it, it - it has one of the longest queues in the area. But their popularity means they don't need to put effort into service because even if one customer is pissed, the next customer is just next in line. We probably only spent 20 minutes in total here, but the experience was the worst I've had in any restaurant in Japan. There were three of us, and we had one more person who we weren't sure if they were going to make it. So we asked for a table of 3. We were seated at a table for four, and once we heard from our extra party member that they were going to make it we asked them to join us. He was denied entrance, even though our table could have easily fitted him. There wasn't any explanation, just no. Ok, fine - if that's the case we will take what's left of our okonomiyaki and leave. Couldn't do that either. We had a quarter of one okonomiyaki left and half of another one. They would only let us take away the half and not the quarter. These may seem like little gripes but in none of our interactions did we feel we were treated with any sort of respect as customers. And the worst part is when I told two different employees that their service was terrible, neither seemed to care or try to explain to and reason with me. Oh well. The best I can do is leave my rant here. Bottom line: Eat here if you want average okonomiyaki coated with lacklustre and heartless service.

Best okonomiyaki in Osaka. Very worth the money and they cook it on the grill right in front of you.

Pro tip: they only allow you to order before entering the restaurant so make sure you order enough as you can't order more inside.
