  Authentic (relatively untouched) and not over-developed for tourists. Also surprisingly larger than I thought! Some temporary makeshift parking nearby. If you have the time, I recommend parking at Tougenoyu Hot Springs (free) then walking here by going through the decommissioned train tunnels. Worth seeing.

  A bridge right by the road. The bridge is a wow factor as is, but the more fun option is to walk through the tunnels where the train used to run (although we didn't have enough time).

  当時の状態のまま保存されており、レンガ造りのアーチ橋としては国内最大だそうです。
  下から見上げると迫力があり、また橋の上の両脇にあるトンネルは夏でもヒンヤリの天然クーラーでとても涼しいです。
  1993年(平5)、国の重要文化財に指定。

  When we're going to Karuizawa, always pass this old road. I liked to see the bridge and the old tunnel. 2 yrs ago I've been here on winter. So today I'm here again. Fresh air. I've walked from the bridge to Usui Lake. Thanks God to see the beauty of Your creations.
