Great location, very scenic with authentic japaness feel. We came late after sundown (5.30 pm in mid nov) and there was no shop open left. Superb location for taking photos.

Great place to visit. An old historical feel, plenty of local shops for gifts and niknaks and local food delicacies. Highly recommend the toy and doll museum. Plenty of local restaurants too.

Wonderful small place. Charming. Historical streets, nice stream and women wearing kimonos. Looks like one of the streets of Kyoto

Kurashiki Bikan(Aestheric Area) Historical Quarter inherits atmosphere of old Edo era.
Not so crowded there. I am quite enjoying to stroll around this area.

It is a really beautiful street with some traditional buildings. Too much touristic park oriented feeling though.

This place is like Kyoto crossed with Venice the historical buildings combined with the canals make it a unique and exciting place for a visit. There are also a range of shops, art galleries and museums to visit here. Some of these galleries have original artworks from Japanese artists and well known western artists such as Andy Warhol. Overall this district is probably the most important place to visit in Okayama.

relaxing place to spend 2 hours or more just to take a walk along the river and visit these interesting shops. They have rickshaws and boats (if the weather is nice) too

before i went there i didn't expect it's so beautiful! classic japanese architecture, trees (with birds) along a river, and endless shops to be explored. take JR to the kurashiki station and walk 7-10min.

Wonderfully preserved historical town located maybe 10 minutes from Kurashiki Station. There is a beautiful canal there with local shops selling traditional foods and crafts. The charming architecture will bring you back in time. A must-see if you come to Kurashiki!
