  Rural but still worthy visiting. The roof of shrine is special. Also the corridor a must see.

  【国宝】登録名称は「吉備津神社本殿及び拝殿」… 古代以来の吉備地方の鎮護として名高い。現在の社殿は足利義満の命により応永３２年（１４２５）に再建された。本殿の平面は三間社の周囲に庇を二重に廻した形式をとり，内部に向かって次第に床と天井を高めている。屋根は前後二つの入母屋造を連結した比翼入母屋造と呼ばれる特異な外観を見せる。本殿前には妻入りの拝殿が接続し，本殿と同様に大仏様の手法を示す。

  鳴釜の神事は、14時まで。金曜日はやっていないとのこと。
