生簀を取り囲むようににカウンターが設置されていて、泳いでいる以下を眺めながらお食事がいただけるというお店です。
いかの活け造りをオーダーするとその生簀からさっと救ってくれてさばいていただけますが、げその方は塩焼きか天ぷらかを選択できます。出張やプライベートで中洲の近くに行けば、せいもん払い参加、河太郎さんへ寄って色々と食べ散らかすのが楽しみです。
当然予約をとっって行くのがベターなのですが、17時ぐらいにお店に入ればそのまま案内されますし、帰りの飛行機の時間にもちょうどいいかななんて思います。

烏賊の概念ブチ壊し。
生簀から揚げられその場で捌かれるここのイカ。
こんな甘くて歯応えのあるイカは初めてでした。
お刺身を半分程頂くと店員さんから
残りの食べ方を選択させていただけます。
我々は天ぷらをチョイス。
これまた素晴らしい。
ごまカンパチなどその他の一品も秀逸です。

全体的に少しお高く感じますが、食べて納得できるお値段、店構えでした。
是非早めから予約をして訪れることをお勧めさせていただきます。

You can have a fresh Ika and new experiene with a reasonable price. I felt a bit sorry to see its moving on a plate (it looked still alive) but it was totally new experience to see how to catch it from the pond in front of my table!

I would say this place is a must go. The taste and display of the food was amazing. Quite expensive but worth it.

店員の対応が最悪。
ゆっくり食事もさせない最悪な店。
歴史の有る店か知らんけど最低な店。

店内生簀に泳ぐイカを注文後にさばいてくれます。
イカの活き作りを頼むと、ゲソは後で天ぷらに。
エビの刺身を頼むと、お頭は後で素揚げに。
シロウオの踊り食いも楽しめます。
また行きたい。

One of my favorite place to go to when It come to squid. The food is as fresh as humanly possible (the squids are kept alive in the restaurant's indoor water pond up until they serve it to you. A must go if you are in Fukuoka.
