Very good atmospher. I will come back to this place again and again
Food is not good but onsen is ok.
Onsen variety is great and you’ll find the usual facilities at a Japanese mega onsen hotel. But this hotel is definitely showing it’s age and the cleanliness isn’t the greatest either.
Hotel has many onsen pools but don't expect them to look spanking new. The ocean-facing pools do have excellent views though. The dinner buffet at Sunrise Restaurant had many selections although they covered mainly Japanese cuisine. If you're lucky, you'll catch the tuna carving demonstration.
As advertised. They have several onsens to choose from. It's so wonderful to relax literally at the bank of the ocean next to you. The room is clean and big and it's traditional Japanese style.
This is our fifth trip to Japan, but this is our first time to Wagayama. When I did research about what we can do in this area. I find Hotel Urashima which has onsen in caves. My husband and I love hot spring(onsen), so we decided to stay in this hotel. We stayed in this hotel for 3 days. It was amazing experience to bath in caves and watching the waves and ocean during bath time. Unfortunately, we were not able to stay in 山上館 due to renovation. The staff and service were great. We got upgraded to a huge room on the second day due to minor leaking in bathroom which was caused by heavy rain. The original room was big, but the new room was even bigger. I believe that it can accommodate 7 people. There is a large Japanese room(12 mats); a large western sitting room; two toilets; one Japanese bathroom; 3 TVs and more. The view from both rooms are facing the ocean. It was so beautiful whether it was raining or shinning. We will definitely come back.
Old hotel, rooms are worn, but the hot springs are great and buffet "tuna cutting" is fantastic.
Room and onsen were very nice and clean. Breakfast buffet was meh. Staff was really nice and helpful.
A couple of restaurants, izikaya, and snack bars in the resort.
Interesting hotel located on an Island with onsen in the cave. Hotel facilities a bit old but clean.
Nice place, but is beginning to show its age. There is a pool which is only available in summer. The several natural hot spring baths are nice, and some offer good views (particularly liked the grotto one).
The breakfast buffet is included in the price.
The place seems popular for Chinese tourists, as a large contingency was there.
