Nothing too fancy, I would say a standard Japanese quality hotel.
A good advantage is certainly the location, 2 min walk from Kyoto station.
Frankly speaking if you are not coming here for business I would suggest to book in advance some nice old style hotels which are omnipresent in Kyoto.

The hotel is just opposite to the Kyoto station . Very convenient location. Friendly staffs. Fast and easy check in and check out . Great room service. We left an empty water bottle little far from dustbin. When we came back it was not taken away. Then we found a note under it stating that they don't know what to do with the bottle 😊

A luxurious hotel right opposite Kyoto station. Great service and breakfast buffet. No complaints at all! Recommended if you're looking for stay options near the Kyoto station!

Staff are polite and helpful, although for guests who speak no Japanese, do not expect fluent English service (Kyoto is the old capital, after all). Buffet dinner was great value - you would pay much more for dinner anywhere else and there is a lot of variety. While building is a bit dated and could use some maintenance work. Overall the excellent location trumps any cons.

Inexpensive and rooms to prove it. Dirty, moldy and foul smelling. Conveniently located across from the Kyoto train station.

Nice hotel. I respect their effort to identify every item on the menu whether it have alcohol or not, however it will be better to prepare some non-alcohol foods instead of making all the menu has alcohol inside then warning people of it!
