Nice place with easy access to subway. There's a 711 across the street and several restaurants a few steps away. Super convenient. Staff is friendly and speaks English like other posts have mentioned.

Excellent hotel! Having washing machine and dryer facilities in your hotel is really useful when away from home for a few weeks.

Location is good as is it very easy to get to Kyoto station.

It's about a 15-20 walk to the main shopping centre but the walk through the side streets is always interesting

Rooms are big, bathrooms are small. Staff is friendly and hotel is in a decent area close to the subway.

My room was next to a service room, meaning that from 9am to 3pm I got to hear plates crashing, plastic bags ruffling, doors slamming, faucets running, etc right outside my door. Not a huge issue as I wasnt in the room a lot, but definitely annoying if you want to sleep in or have a nap.

Be careful with the laundry machines in the basement, the dryer doesnt have settings and will shrink cotton pretty badly.

Staff is typical of Japanese hospitality; friendly and willing to help.

Bathrooms are pretty small however. WiFi is solid and the kitchen is nice to have but I didn't really find the need for it.

A few places to eat in the area, convenience and drug stores very close.

Comfortable, clean hotel with very helpful and friendly staff.
Situated between Kyoto station and Gion right next to Gojo station, it offers a break from the busy touristy areas of the mentioned above while being easy walking distance or a one station train ride to either.

The hotel is right on the main road however the sound proofing is excellent and the roads are pretty quiet at night time. There are also grocery stores and restaurants located nearby.

We received a complementary upgrade upon check-in to a room which appeared could have been a self-service apartment with a balcony. A balcony made such a difference and the stay so much more comfortable.

As mentioned the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They even assisted with reservations.

Have stayed here a few times over four years still as good condition as when the hotel was a new hotel. Bathroom and kitchenette as good as new and all in good working order. Room was very clean and neat. Can now hire bikes at J Cycle and keep them for your entire stay in a secure parking ( ask at reception )
Can not beat the position to every thing wether arriving by train or sightseeing or shopping. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Everything was perfect. The receptionists were very helpful. Well-located. We got fined because we parked the car in front of the hotel for 10 minutes, leaving the car unattended.

Nice hotel with spacious room (in Japanese standard).
The only problem I had with the hotel was its location: Yes- it is near a subway station but its not near anything else. Its 15 min. walk from the central of Kyoto and a bus drive away from where we used to go out in Kyoto.
We usually had to take a bus/subway to get to where we need, instead of just walk there.

Clean and comfortable stay right next to the Gojo subway and various bus stops. Rooms were not big but not too small as well. Hotel staff spoke English and were always happy to help.
