Amazing unique ryokan experience!
Amazing, authentic overnight experience at a Shigon Buddhist temple, not a tourist trap. BEAUTIFUL, quiet, temple grounds great for walking. The morning for ceremony and morning prayer (4:45am and 5:45am respectively) were very special, spiritual experiences. All the monks and staff were very nice and so gracious. The vegetarian dinner was so delicious, as was the breakfast. Rooms are modest but spacious tatami with air conditioning and a safe. Shared bathrooms (toilets) and shared baths (one gender at a time for separate times). Get there by train to Oji station and taxi (taxi about 2000 yen) or a bus that comes every few hours. Don't forget to take out cash before heading up the mountain as payment is cash only. Overall highly recommended!!
Very cool experience. Many temples and good view of the valley and city below. Take bus 43 or 42 shigisammon from Oji station and it will get you very close!
Big rooms, nice food, beautiful location, isolated. There is limited English speakers, so some Japanese knowledge is useful. Surrounded by forests, water and temples and shrines. Would be amazing to visit during lunar new year period.
Personnel charmant et accueillant
Lieu idyllique
Really cool, a quiet and peaceful place. And i am lucky enough too see their ceromony. They burn a lots of wood, add oil on them while chanting something. Another monk is hitting a drum and chanting. And if you can get up early, you can see the sun rising on the mountain top, really beautiful.
Fantastyczny ryokan. Mozna dojechac busem z oji lub z kolejki od strony osaki. Warto wybrac sie na 2 dni i odpoczywac. Doskonale jedzenie. Jesli chcecie zwiedzac nare to jest to mozliwe ale latwiej znalezc cos w miescie i miec blizej. Jesli znacie japonski maja duzo ksiazek do poczytania.
霊験高く、信者数の大変多い寺院。病気平癒の御利益は大きい。医者から見放された者でも、こちらでは見放されない。個人的には、何度も危機を救っていただいた。
年に二回されている浴油祈祷がお勧め。
