Super friendly and helpful staff, beautiful little cafe at bottom. Japanese rooms are lovely. Second time here (first time was at Annex). Would never stay anywhere else in Kyoto except at Gojo Guest House

Incredibly friendly service, and comfortable accommodations will leave you feeling at home here. It was a hot day in Kyoto and we had walked to gojo guest house from the Kyoto station, when checking in the first thing we received was a glass of ice cold water and a place to sit while filling out check-in forms. If you're not afraid to stay in a more traditional Japanese style place, I would highly recommend this place.

I stayed 3 nights and everything went right. Shared a 6 female dorm, tatamis were comfortable and the room was spacious. Shared bathrooms/showers were good and staff was friendly all the time =) they give you a free beverage on arrival and as that made you stay at the lounge area it was easy to meet other people

Gojo Guest House is a traditional Japanese house with squeaky wooden floor boards, bamboo and translucent paper sliding doors and tatami flooring and matts. It's a very quiet hostel. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They also make the best toast!

Great vibe, very sweet people, quiet location. Near a few bus stops but you have to walk a few minutes! Free WiFi. We slept in the 6 person female dormitory and it was a great experience - met some awesome people! We had futons with two mattresses, two sheets, a cover, and a blanket, as well as a pillow and a pillow sheet. The guy at the front desk was also the sweetest! The only draw back is the bathroom is chilly, but there is a heater for you to use! I didn't use it myself so I don't know how quickly it heats up the space. Wonderful little place to rest your head and hang out!
