Visit to get a comprehensive understanding of the origins of Tokyo and its development over the past centuries. Permanent exhibit includes real-size, reconstructed architecture from the city's past.

This museum is great. It gives a view of Tokyo's history. The main information boards'er in English. On weekdays you get the 100 enthusiastic school kids for free :-)

Best way is take Oedo subway line to Ryogoku station. From Villa Fontain Ueno turn to the right and walk 2-3 minutes along main road to Shin-Okachimachi station of Oedo line, 2d stop is Ryogoku

A massive museum featuring tons of dioramas and displays showing the history of Tokyo (when it was known as Edo). The Nihonbashi Bridge replica is one of the highlights.
