Nice viewing spot with amusement park to entertain the kids. Its a 10 minutes walk from the amanohashidate train station. Cover charge to go up is JPY 600.

The cable car station leading up to the Park is not that conspicuous. There are a couple of private car parks near it and the elderly operators charge Y500-600 per day. Those on the main road are often full and they charge Y1000.
You can take either their big high-tech cable car or a small chair lift up or down the Park. The experience of course is different although the grand view up the Park is the same. Upon your arrival, Park staff would invite you for a free photo shooting session and you would find it hard not to buy your image home.
The Park visit is the highlight for packaged tours. If you have time, I suggest you walk at least a bit of the strip of land bridging the land masses before going up. Better still, you may wish to try the big boat and the speed boat taking you to the other side at as reasonable prices.
If you do them first, your emotional response would be more intense when you are at the Park. The sights of scenes and activities far below would remind you of your earlier presence. You would feel yourself as part of the big picture!response / report this review -

Super view of Amanohashidate. Has lots of sakura at the top as well. The also has some small activities for children, about 300yen each

They played a few songs on loop that kinda distract you from the breathtaking view up here. Otherwise, a nice little amusement park.

Don't care about the theme park, the view of the sandbar is amazing. You can make nice panorama shots. The price for the way up and down is very cheap and you don't have to pay for theme park, if you just want to take pictures from the top.
