Over a year ago I had a chat with the shop manager about adding signs in English as a courtesy for all the foreign visitors to Hakuba every winter. To date no English signs so you'll have to wander around wasting time trying to find things but I prefer this shop to Aeon so this is where I go. A good selection of local farm grown produce in a special section devoted to local farmers, also a good selection of fish meat and chicken. Not as big as Aeon but not as much junk food. Get your alcohol first as you have to pay for it together with your groceries. Staff are polite and friendly.

Less selection than AEON for non perishables but better price, especially if you are buying in bulk. Good fresh produce section included a sizable selection from local growers. Some nice European style bread thrown in with the local produce as well.
