The whorst day of the Trip. They destroyed the entire honeymoon sweetness with a unacceptable room with 4° degrees and terrible dinner and even worst breakfast. I didn't managed to find the outside onsen. Totally not raccomanded.

Staff was very friendly. Upon arriving a stuff member guided us all around the temple. He explained everything and answered all our questions. Food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious (vegetarian). Morning ceremony was quite interesting. Onsen was clean and super relaxing.

Friendly staff with great spoken English. The experience was fantastic, good food. The corridors do get quite cold in the evening (I was there in early November), but the room has proper heating.

Brilliant wee bit of culture, relaxation and meditation high up in the Japanese mountain town of Koyasan. It's a working temple with the emphasis on tourism. Don't miss the chance to get up early to take part in morning prayer. Food is simple and wonderfully presented. All vegetarian of course. Accommodation is basic but perfectly comfortable. The Onsen is wonderful. All in all, a perfect spot to stop off to explore Koyasan.

One of My favorite hotels and areas in Japan (and the world). Location is central to hiking options. Staff speaks English and is very friendly. Traditional style lodging and board. We opted for the largest meal option and were unable to finish everything. Much care and pride is obvious during the in-room food service. At the end of the day, they also set out your bedding for you. Great service and a breathtaking grounds. A+

Big temple lodge with more than 60 rooms. Staff is very nice and service is impeccable. The food is a little overprices but it's a worthy experience to try this monk vegetarian breakfast and dinner. Don't miss the ofuro (indoors and outdoors) and sauna. Curfew is a bit too early (9pm) if you plan a night walk to Okunoin. Gates open at 6am. Rooms aren't a great thing, but you won't stay in the room for long. Rather enjoy the whole facility and get lost around. One missing star because since 2013 they didn't expand the wi-fi area. Only in a small lounge.

Delicious Japanese vegetarian crusine. Convenient walking distance to major attractions in Koyasan. The only shukubo with traditional onsen to rejuvenate your body after a long day tour.

Great atmosphere, excellent location for anyone interested in seeing japanese history in front on them. Gorgeous location in the mountains, clean air. A bit on the cold side do be warmed.

We had a very nice stay here. Large Japanese dinner an breakfast was served in our room and this place has its own onsen. It is also great to wonder around and see the gardens.

There are also several activities that you can undertake while you stay here such as sutra copying and attending the morning prayers.

The staff were all friendly and made us feel welcome. Definitely a good place to stay if you want the full Japanese experience.

09.26.2016 Located close to world famous heritage Kongōbu-ji.

The rooms had a slightly noisy air conditioning unit and the outdoor hot spring area had no view and water temperature was only lukewarm. Other than that, the staffs were friendly and shojin ryori tasted delicious.

By the way, the morning chanting was a very unique experience. But one needs to get up early to participate as it starts at 6am.
