Nice and pretty big archeologic site. Not as beautiful as Jerash, but still nice to visit. The theatre and colonnade are most beautiful to see. The view around (Syria) is great.

Take plenty of water as when we were there the restaurant was closed. Spend here 1-2 hours maximum.

Amazing place, much bigger than one would expect so go around and discover for yourself. You will have to do your own reading and analysis because there is hardly anything written on site

Spectacular views and free-to-roam access to the monuments mean a very up-close encounter with the historic buildings and ruins it also means litter and some wear and tear. The view over the Jordan Valley combined with the ruins of Roman magnificence mean you can point your camera almost anywhere and have a sweet souvenir pic.

The site provides several interesting archeological finds, including the forum and the theater. The best time to visit is in spring, when the whole area is covered in lush greens and flowers, making for a peaceful and serene experience. The view from the restaurant across the Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights is stunning.

What a magical historical place. Built with volcanic rocks that is uniquely designed and well structured.
With the Romanian columns, theaters and churches this place will make you fall in love with it.
You can also enjoy delicious Arabian bites and share a drink with your beloved ones at the restaurant they opened lately while having the best views ever.

Lovely tourist attraction. A lovely guide took us to an amazing vantage point where you can see occupied Palestine and he shared with us lots of info about the area. Also the restaurant inside Umm Qays castle is beautiful for a meal just beware of the 🐝🐝 🤣🤣.

A two hours drive from Amman you will find the historical site Um Qais. It is a nice area and an interesting drive from Amman. From Um Qais there is a nice view on the surrounding countries to the North and West and you can see lake Tiberia. Below you will find the pictures from our visit in April. It was very green at that time. I recommend not to go on Fridays but Saturdays, as it will be less crowdy. If you can, take the chance to grab a snack or coffee at the restaurant within the site. However, it might be busy so depending when you go, reserve a table. You might combine the trip with visiting Irbid or Pella or Jerash/Ashloun.

The place is amazing. Amazing views and worth visiting.

But not in a good shape right now as the signage is all faded out and unreadable. Apparently it was renovated in 2014 which doesn't bode well for the type of work done. And this is unlike all other places I've visited in Jordan so far which were in immaculate condition. The staff and police though were good and cooperative as everywhere else. The charge of 5 JD for foreigners is also too much compared to others e.g.. Jeresh: 2 JD and much more enjoyable trip.

The restaurant is very well located where you can eat while enjoying the views of the three countries, and the Sea of Galilee/Lake Tiberias.

Very interesting archaeological site. We hired a guide at the visitors center where you purchase tickets. The views of the 3 countries (Jordan, Israel, and Syria) coming together are really cool. We spent 1-2 hours here. There's not much shade here, so we were out in the summer heat!

Must visit for history buffsSecluded zone. Please plan travel prior to sunset. Wonderful Cafe on top overlooking three countries and the Arab River valley dam. Horse riding available. If I don't desire to walk all the way inside th3 castle just take the right road when u exit the castle parking. Follow the course until the next check point on elevation . Turnaround for a spectacular view of the pillars and the amphitheatre and pretty much of what umm qais is.

Historical place with a great deal of beautiful landmarks. Full of culture and history regarding the Roman, Greek and the Ottoman empire. Should be visited when the temperature is a bit low as it can get really hot during the summer.

One of my favorite spots on Jordan. Incredible archeology and scenery. Make sure to go in the early spring (late February to early April) to catch the green fields on the way.

Amazing place to visit. Unfortunately local authorities have neglected the place. The Roman theater would have been a landmark if it were restored. People are friendly and helpful.

This really is a must if you're interested in Roman history. Do yourself a favour and get a a guide too, so you fully appreciate and understand what you're seeing, how it would have been used by the Romans and also where the site is situatated. Also, don't cancel this part of your trip just because it's near to the Syrian border, as many tourists are currently doing. It's completely safe, they have no trouble there and there's nothing to worry about. Also they need the tourism to support the site.
