Lovely Hotel and grounds, very helpful staff. Little bit busy around check in and out times with perhaps a few more staff needed at peak times. Excellent restaurant buffets and range of food. Lovely bar terrace facing the Dead Sea. Only drawback for us was the noise at night from the Village Restaurants close by our room. Can be a bit of a trek walking down to the beach for elderly guests, but overall a lovely place to stay
The main attraction is the Dead Sea and it delivers that. But the rooms are pretty ordinary for the price, and the breakfast and dinner buffets are disappointing. The resort is surprisingly far from the "beach." There's an electric cart that goes from the reception area to the sea, but it can be hard to find.
But the Dead Sea is great, and the pools are quite nice. I did expect just a bit better from a resort of this level.
Difficult to find main entrance, big barrier crossing the road, x/ray scanning at the entrance, no warning for pregnant woman.
Welcoming, friendly staff. Spacious, light room. Tasty and fresh breakfast. Helpful lifeguard at the beach, a bit dirty water in the swimming pool. Overall experience very good. Highly recommended fort short stay.
continue to recommend it and bring friends. Service is great, it’s clean and beautiful. They are the oldest hotel on this strip, and. Amazing buffet food for breakfast and dinner, we really enjoyed both.
As always we had a great stay. They also facilitated an extended check out for us, no problems. Had amazing rooms and more. Thank you!
We had a great time from check-in to check-out. All members of staff made it a pleasure to be here.
Also, access to the Dead Sea is easy, nice and even there is a helpful person to assist. The pool was lovely and the waiters very attending. Our kids enjoyed their stay too.
We decided to return to Mövenpick on our way to Amman. Thank you so much!
Very nice hotel. Staff excellent, the services provided were at top notch.
Bell boy who drive the car was perfect and helpful had good sense of humor.
Dinner experience at the italian restaurant was unique food was good and services. Prices are reasonable and affordable comparing with experience. The room was clean. The pool was beautiful and the dead sea experience was one of the best. Althogh the beach can be better.
I would like to mention the most attractive side of my stay, The cleanliness of the resort! It was really like nowhere else! Got a lil tiny problem in my room but it was instantly tackled by Motasem, He deserves another 5 stars .
Horrible experience. One of the worest hotel I have been to. I had to wait for 3 hours until I finally got my room at 5 pm - previously booked room -.. The room furniture is old, ancient TVs, not enough towels. The resort facilities are very fat from each other, very unfriendly buildings and routes. The food experience was unbelievable. The restaurant was overcrowded. The staff / food quantities weren't enough for the number of visitors. I will never visit again.
Well before everything ..the hotel was more than fantastic ..We spent 3 days at movenpick and we enjoyed every hour in it The hotel, rooms and bathrooms were very clean . The service was amazing and speedy. The housekeeping employees were perfect and very helpful. Thanks for your help and for making our trip more fun.
I stayed for a couple of days. I really enjoyed being there in movenpick. Clean and up to date hotel. The staff were friendly and helped me with every need. The service was excellent. My room was very comfortable and clean, I'll definitely visit it again. ❤
My husband and I went to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The hotel was recommended by my colleague. On arrival we were happily greeted and security checked and taken to the desk for checking in. The place is immaculately clean including our room and the ground beautifully kept. The food..a wide variety for both breakfast and dinner. I told them on reservation about our 25th wedding anniversary and on the evening we had a mouth watering cake and enjoyed a live band singing our requests. Over all we had a fantastic time in Jordan. We had a great time floating in the Dead Sea!
The hotel landscape is pretty nice and covering a large surface, as well as the lobby area. My room was not really clean and i was told that it has a view but it didn't have any. The breakfast was diverse but not so tasty nor of a high quality. It has an access to dead sea water but don't expect a sandy beach, i guess however that's the case for all hotels there except the Kampenski i guess. Staff are friendly and fun to talk to, they are from the surrounding areas within "Al Ghour" region. The price is fine, and the pool is really cool.
Nice rooms and breakfast was good. However, it is a massive resort and you are either near the sea or near reception/bar/main restaurant, but not both. There are small swimming pools in different areas, but just one mail pool and sea area. Nothing else nearby.
Awesome property and great location on the dead sea. The only bad thing is the beach is rocky and difficult to waddle into the sea. Please wear some water / snorkelling shoes.
The beach and pool are incredible, the facilities are all beautiful and gardens are well kept. All the staff was very friendly and helpful, specislly the guys by the winter swimming pool.
Nice place to stay, rooms are spacious and neat. But needs improvement on breakfast. Private area for Dead sea is excellent.Night shows like belly dancing is awesome.
We got upgraded, service was excellent. They have a lot of stray cats there. Giving one less star because we love cats, however there were lots of kittens with cat flu and undesexed adults. Understand this is a big problem in the area. Otherwise a really lovely resort.
Highly recommended. One of the best experiences I've had so far. We stayed in one of the chalet like rooms downstairs. We had a pool for ourselves. there's a Jacuzzi amidst
the trees; the lifeguard on duty did not hesitate to turn it on just for me as no one else wanted to use it in the hot weather. There is acess to the beach, a very refreshing morning walk, actually. So many pools, the best is the infinity pool at the zara spa. Amazing for an unforgettable sunset. The spa has lots of massages and other mud levitating experiences . you don't need to get out of the hotel to have fun. I can go on and on.
Resort is fantastic. But I didn't like them letting people smoke or take glass products in the pool. Also it was the only hotel I've been in of that stature who does nothing for a guests birthday. Also if you've kids and a garden view room be warned you'll hear the music till midnight quite clearly
Just back from a short break at the Movenpick. It's a beautiful resort, lovely landscaped gardens and a number of pools - the beech infinity pool has amazing views over the Dead Sea and is an amazing place to watch the epic sunsets with a cold beer. Friendly staff, the restaurants all serve good food and there is live local music every night in the "village" area. We will be back!
It was an acceptable experience comparing to other hotels in the area.
Too many cats wondering around the resort. The staff were more than helpful at the main building but in the field staff at resturant area, pool area and room service needs more knowledge and endorcement of Movenpick hospitality.
Food was excellent, room was comfortable. Access to the dead Sea was good, water is deep allowing for upright floating. Free printing from business center and wifi throughout grounds. Great place for conferences
Great experience. Every detail is special. People are kind and available to help whatever the need is.
I wish I can come again.
Bad experience. A/C was broke. Toilet doesn't flush which made the room stink. When trying to call the front desk we found out that the phone doesn't work. I don't recommend this 1 star hotel.
I loved it. It's a beautiful resort with access to the dead sea. The design of the hotel is really authentic and it feels magical.
Good entertainment all day. Recommended.
This probably was at one time a very nice maybe even 5-star hotel, but now it feels very tired and old. The experience overall for us was fine, but frankly that made it well over-priced. It's clear that the Dead Sea Spa just down the street is the better and more affordable option.
Pros:
- The Dead Sea itself is worth a visit, especially in nice weather.
- The landscaping at the hotel is beautiful; it's an assortment of trees, bushes, and flowers throughout the grounds
- The pools are fine but not as amazing as they look in the pictures. There are good spots for photos, though.
Cons:
- Subpar service. Our room wasn't ready until almost 5:30pm, the free mini bar is scant, if you ask for anything you have to ask multiple times and wait.
- The toilets don't actually flush.
- The hotel feels old and outdated. The decor is orientalist at best, and very tacky in the hotel rooms themselves. Although, we probably stayed in some of the cheaper rooms, which are still expensive compared to other options. It's fine, but the feel is like that of a once great theme park that has grown tired of itself.
- It's annoying to have to ask for towels and give your room number every time you go to the pool or sea.
- The area to go into the Dead Sea is really bad compared to Dead Sea Spa. It is super rocky and cramped. If there are waves, you will hit up against the sharp salt rocks and it will hurt. Other spots, like Dead Sea Spa have much more open and easier entries into the Sea.
- The bed was queen size, not king size.
- There seem to be many of the best parts of the hotel that are only accessible to certain guests who probably pay a lot of money. This is kind of annoying because you look at the photos of the hotel beforehand and think "Oh, wow!" But you're experience most likely won't include what you see in those very nice photos. And so it ends up feeling like you paid a luxury price for a less than ordinary hotel experience.
Takeaway and Tips:
- There are better, less-expensive options in the area but visiting the Dead Sea is a good time anyway.
- For food, I do not recommend eating the (in-)"authentic" and very over-priced food at the hotel. For most people, the hotel food is probably fine, but there are definitely better, more reasonably priced options in town that are probably still cheaper even if you have to take a taxi.
Lovely hotel. Nice rooms. Good access to the sea. Food a bit over priced.
Amazing place, very relaxing with an easy access to a private beach in the Dead Sea. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and all the resort has an amazing Moroccan style. The buffet dinner was great, with lots of Arabic food. The staff is very helpful. i would definitely stay there again
Nice hotel with great gardens, but it became a little old. Some of the staff are very, very kind. Some are - I'm afraid - just incapable of making a stay worth the money. Our four room keys (of two rooms) got deactivated every day (!) but reception was not capable of solving that. We needed a second blanket - we had to ask four (!) times List goes on. Sorry to say, but this place could be way better with just little efford. Keep up the work, you can do it.
Movenpick resort and spa was definitely a wonderful experience for me and my family. The check in was smooth and welcomed by the friendly staff. Our kids' room were also placed adjoining next to us (sea view) which they kindly upgraded. The Zara spa's couple treatment is very relaxing with very good therapist. Shame that the dead sea pool is under construction but then again just head to the real sea 😜
