You call the embassy and tell them that you, you are a US citizen and don't have time due to travel to wait for a week to get an appointment, they tell you to come first thing in the morning. You come to the gate and they have bunch of idiots that they only ask what time is your appointment. No appointment no entry! Great! What a waste of time to get someone on the phone, you need to clear your afternoon and expect to wait for 50 minutes on the line I don't blame the idiots at the gate, I blame the process maker inside! Here a suggestion process maker - if all what we need is a notarial service, why cannot we citizens drop the paper at the gate say by 9 AM and comeback and pick it up at noon. I don't need anything complicated, this is a simple service to notarial a Notary Public that was made in the US. Literally - it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. You are making things more difficult that they should. Another suggestion - close it!

Fortress America. Somewhere along the way, we've forgotten that an embassy is meant to be a tool to engage with the local population. Fine, we live in a post-9/11 world. Once you're on the premises, your worries melt away. A great pool, dining hall, and plenty of cultural tour opportunities abound. Enjoy your time here. Be safe.
