Cafe has a great menu and the staff are knowledgeable and charmingly quirky. It's a glorious place to sit and chill with a book during the week (though it gets busy on Friday brunch.)
The bookstore is equally good with a great selection of travel, art, and political books in addition to the usual best sellers. Good selection of children's books in both English and Arabic.response / report this review -

Poor untrained staff, walked asked if we had a reservation, when we did, we were not shown to a table. After waiting for a minute to be seated one of the incompetent waiters pointed out a table. Having sit down on that table we waited for 15 minutes for anyone to get the menus, the manager walked up to us, hoping we'd get an apology for the poor service. We found out that he was asking us to get up with an unapologetic rude tone that was obviously not appreciated. Two more waiters came and also asked us to get up all within the same minute. No apologies were given. We immediately left the cafe. I recommend no one visits this horrid place, honestly worst experience I've had in any cafe. This does not represent Jordanian hospitality.

The drinks are cheap, but the food is really overpriced. The service was pretty bad. It took them 30 minutes to bring a lemonade and a salad.
The ambiance of the place is really nice and variable; depending on where you sit, you can either get some serious work done on your laptop, or have a great time with friends. The view from the terrace is amazing, and there's also a cat that frequents it (for those who have allergies). It's friendly, but it's best if you don't try to hold it.
My verdict: it's a great judgement-free place to hang out with friends for drinks, but I suggest you get the food elsewhere.response / report this review -

Great place to hang out with friends or alone. Surrounded by books, trees and good views.
Whether you choose breakfast, lunch or dinner their food is delicious! Or you can just enjoy a cup of tea or coffee or just an alcoholic drink.
The staff are super friendly and nice. The prices are fair. It is one of my favorite places to visit.response / report this review -

Worst staff ever. Unbelievably rude with a terrible attitude and you literally have to beg them to notice you. This place used to be much better but the service is really killing their reputation.

This review is long overdue. You MUST come here if in Amman! Their pizzas are one of the best I've had and I'm on a world tour eating a lot of pizza and this place is the truth! Went here 4 days in a row that's how great it is.
Morning staff is WAY better than evening. Seems the woman servers are more attentive and the night staff, in combination with the place turn in more like a lounge meant we waited and little things kept getting missed.
Aside from that it's a great place, with a library on the first floor and large multiplex of cafes outdoor eating areas and even a roof terrace overlooking the city. The pizza in my photo is one they kindly made per my request. Half vegetarian half shrimp. Finger licking good down to the last bite. You must check it out!!!!response / report this review -

It is a very nice friendly place with lots of nice people especially on Thursdays. Tuesdays Karaoke! It is fun! It is a must to see when you are in Amman. Reservation preferred! Otherwise you will miss the fun.

Very nice atmosphere, but needs more outside seating! The view is awesome, so you need to make sure you book in advance. The fried haloumi with pomegranate sauce was fantastic.

Books@cafe is an old time favorite were you can't go wrong. They have a a big variety of delicious food on their menu and as usual their staff is super friendly. You can enjoy their 5-8 happy hour with a 50% discount on drinks and food. My personal favorite is the confusion pizza, where you can mix two types of pizza together. I usually go for the books pizza with the white sauce pasta one. YES, they put pasta with cheese, cream and white sauce on top of your pizza! They also host a karaoke night every Tuesday which is pretty fun and starts at 9

It's good as a book store and meeting place, good for chilling but the food is meh. The book store is really good, not sure how many people actually go for that part of it though.

It's a well hidden place with a modest facade on the outside.. so simple that you almost overlook it if you happen to walk by it, but once you've entered, it's a whole different story.. It's a two-story restaurant where the first floor is a cool bookstore and the second floor has two eating areas, one of which is a terrace.
Staff are friendly, soft music is playing in the background.
Eggs were underwhelming and unseasoned unfortunately.
Prices range from medium to high (shisha was 6.75 around JD without taxes)

I loved the idea that this cafe is connected to a library and if you are looking for a gathering with a group of friends to have few drinks with a lovely view for the city this is the place to go to. If you are not comfortable with alcohol and bars I'd recommend you to look for another place.

The food isn't the reason to go here.
That out of the way, it's a lovely location, quite frequented but off the beaten path a bit, two blocks from Rainbow St.
Fitting, as I'm told it is the only gay bar in Amman.
The service was friendly and respectful and understood English well, which is helpful.
Even the security guard was very welcoming
I didn't get a chance to check out the book store, but the WiFi works well.
They sat me in an inner courtyard balcony with fountains. Very sweet ambiance.response / report this review -

The ambience was brilliant and the service was attentive, but we were there for the latte(coffee) and it was one of the worst coffees I have ever had.

This restaurant is pretty special, bookstore at the first floor and restaurant at the second floor. It has a great city view. I love their Friday breakfast special. Delicious!
