I went to Jerash for many times
This was literally my first time to visit the temple
And the fact that you must see feel the temple the see what Jearsh is all about
    The massive columns
    The vast stairs
    Just look at the photos

Built around the year 135 AD, but never fully completed, the Temple of Artemis is perhaps the most magnificent and iconic of all of Jerash's monuments. Its massive 1.5 meters thick and over 13 meters high portico columns are absolutely jaw dropping.

Arab troops transformed the Temple of Artemis into a fortress to check the Frank's advance. The fortress was however taken and severely damaged by King Baldwin II in the 12th century.

    Impressive, better than Rome itself!

The ruins are great, love the history but the constant pestering by people trying to sell crappy trinkets in every corner of the park nearly ruined it for me.

Artemis temple is so enormous in size when compared to Zeus Temple, maybe because that Artemis (sister of Apollo) is the carer of Jerassa!!

Very cool little temple. You can actually see the pillars teeter in the wind (they put a spoon under one that moves). Find the mosaic floor complexes SW of here, in the hillsides.

Absolutely loved this temple and the kitten family running around it. Don't be put off by the guys selling things, they're just trying to make a living. Politely decline their offers if you're not interested and get distracted by the amazing monument of this temple all around you.

The highlight of Jerash. It's the best place to sit down and relax after the long hike. The views of the whole archeological site are beautiful. I actually bought a cup of tea to aid in the satisfaction. There is a great photo spot you can take with the pillars. Ask the men working up there to take it for you. They will be happy to help. They also will show you the moving column. It moves because of the strong winds and is a mechanism against earthquakes. Make sure to ask to see it.
