Expected a bit more flavour in the meals(based on previous reviews). Overall, the atmosphere is cozy and the service is not bad.
Food isn't as good as it once was and the prices have gone up. Just kind of average now. The thing that keeps bringing us back are the milkshakes and malts. They are large (2 people can easily share one) and very tastya wonderful treat on a warm MoBay evening.
Service was not up to expectation. Notwithstanding the Waiter appeared a bit tired which is understandable because of the nature of job, he was polite and fairly courteous. However, the Cashier's attitude on the other hand' was socially unacceptable. She was unfortunately, a bit unfriendly. I would have second thoughts about dining there in the future.
Food was good, just had to wait a little longer than expected. Ambiance was nice and clean. Staff was excellent.
Excellent customer service. If your Canadian and paying for meal there via credit card. Ensure to tell them to run it in Jamaican dollars. Otherwise u will pay alot more if I pay in Canadian dollars. My bill was $78000.00 Jamaican dollars which is $78 Canadian. However if u request to pay in Canadian dollars ur charged $92.00 highly recommend paying there in local currency (Jamaican dollars) paying for the meal in Jamaican with bank exchange rate came to $82 Canadian however would have been charged $92 if I would have asked to pay in Canadian. But great food and great service.
Good food at a good price. It's conveniently in the middle of the "hip strip".
Very kewl place to visit and explore! Had so much fun! The people are top notch! Fun place to get lunch with the boat. Pull up to the docks, tie off and go have a bite to eat.
Good variety of food offering traditional Jamaican and North American dishes. Price is about $12-20 for most food. Staff are friendly enough. Parking available outside, but can be tight. Nice view of the ocean. Can be a bit cold inside.
Wonderful ambiance fairly attentive staff parking available but sometimes tight.
All meals done to order fair variety and always well done.
A little pricey but worth the wait.
Good on value.
All day service .
Will recommend to any one visiting mobay and needs good food in a relaxed atmosphere
Great placeawesome food, and the staff gave me some suggestions on where to visit once I left the restaurant. Free WiFi and was immediately seated upon arrival for breakfast.
I have been there a couple times the staff is friendly the environment is very quiet the food is very good. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in a nice quiet lunch or dinner with family or friends.
Oh my goodness! We ate here at The Pelican referred by LEtours Jamaica. The food was the best Jamaican food I ever ate. I give then 5 stars.
No need for a long review We got tired of the resort food and caught a taxi into the city and the driver recommended The Pelican and it was AWESOME!!!!!! Authentic Jamaican food!! I had Ox tails, and OMG!!! Soooo good! Hubby had his usual Jerk Chicken and he enjoyed too. And unless you are greedy, the servings are portioned just fine. Restaurant is very clean. It's a late 70's, early 80's type of old school feel, nice and cozy. Customer service is very good and prices are too! Nothing is ridiculously overpriced .I can't wait to go when we come back. Great Job Pelican!! Also try the Cod Fritters(see pic), it was my first time eating them and I fell in love. I found some when I got back to Atlanta, a new fav.
Great atmosphere. The food was very good and so was the location. They were really accommodating because we walked in with a baby in a stroller and they just reorganized our seating area to fit him in. If there's one place you eat at Mobay. It has to be the Pelican.
Really good local food. Had traditional Jamaican dish. Mmm yuummuy. Pretty cheap in dollars. Nice quite place with delicious food and drinks.
Food is good. Waiters knowledgeable about the menu and can advise appropriately if you're a first timer.
If nothing else though you must have their shakes. Perfection!
Only drawback is they're a tad pricey but you get what u pay for. 👍
Love this place!!! Every time we come to Jamaica it is a must!!! Great food, very consistent & good service!!!
Amazing food amazing service ask for Donovan. I have been going there for over 30 years.
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Food was served in a timely manner. The serving sizes are small depending on your appetite but very good cuisine
Ms. Nadine is beyond rude. I walked into the restaurant for 9 guess, she did not greet me with hello or good morning, but with "Do you have a shirt to cover up " I informed her I'm a tourist & there's no dress code sign. (I was wearing a nike sports outfit with long pants) ITS HOT IN JAMAICA. Ms. Nadine said I couldn't eat without changing. But a manager came out of nowhere as I was exiting & said it was okay. Thank goodness she was not our waitress. Lastly besides that the food and waiter was super cool & nice.
Horrible service food outdated..they discriminate on black Americans and set there own dress code..highly disappointing and filing a formal complaint don't go period
Worst service I've ever seen from a restaurant. Waited 45 minutes for them to take my order and over an hour and a half to serve my dinner. Don't waste your time here.
Good exertion down to the pelican for an evening on the hip strip. Be adventurous, get off the resort and experience montego bay
Nice ambience with partial view of the Caribbean sea. Haven't tried many items there but their fish and chips didn't seem to suit the Jamaican palate (not nearly such enough). The prices were definitely a far V from cook shop prices but I'm sure the target demographic don't mind.
They have a great variety of local and international cuisine and it tastes great!
They deliver the best service whether you want it in breakfast, lunch or even dinner.
Great hospitality and a very relaxing environment.
It is usually busy but nothing to take away from the joy of your own personal group gathering.
