  First this place is no longer called Scotchies. It's been renamed Pepperwood Jerk Center even though I was told that it is still by the same people. I've heard so much about this place that I was quite eager to try it out. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype on my visit, but from what I've been told it can sometimes be hit or miss here. The ambience and service were the best parts of my visit. The atmosphere is quite lovely. Seating is arranged in small gazebos in an intimate garden setting. Very quaint. Our server Fernando us promptly and Asians. Our food arrived quickly. The jerk chicken was tender and flavorful but the sides were horrible. The plantain was very dry and appeared to be some sort of Friday. The corn on the cob was so hard that my partner couldn't eat it. I ordered a conch soup that was delicious except that it had chicken in it instead of conch. We enjoyed the grounds and took pictures. There are two macaws there as well which are beautiful but heartbreaking to see these gorgeous creatures caged. Fernando was very attentive and when we asked where we could find a cab, he called one for us and waited outside with us until it arrived. He definitely went above and beyond! I'd give this place another chance just because of him.

  One of the top 5 best places to get Jerk in town.
  Exquisitely unique flavor that goes down to the bone.
  Natural environment, everything is made from wood. Has an outdoors in nature yet secluded type of setting.
  A lovely place for small groups of Jerk lovers and nature lovers. Nice for couples as well.
  In summary, excellent food, lovely design to the natural setting. Good lighting. Good place.
