This fall is so beautiful and refreshing, things to know before you go. You must bring swim shoes, water camera, and if you want to bring anything with you a small water proof bag. However; there is a place to store your belongings if you want to leave them, if you have issues with your knees be very carefull there is alot of walking and climbing. You will have a long walk down to get to the fall then climbing up the fall, in the river there are plenty of slippery rocks which could cause you to fall. The walk up the fall takes about a hour and a half to complete the walk up and then to go down the fall we traveled by land which just as hard because of the dirt and mud so take your time walking.
Had the best time today!!! Im from Niagara area, where we have the most waterfalls in the world..but you cant play and climb and swim and jump in the falls like you can here! The mineral water is so fresh! Our tour guide Shawn kicked ass!! Much love!!
Beautiful falls that is non-swimmer friendly. Walking to the entrance of the property is a bit difficult and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who has difficulty walking. They also have water shoes for rent for those who can't manage to walk on the rocks barefooted.
It's a fun adventure in which you will be guaranteed a great time. Oh and don't forget to bring a tip for your personal tour guide, they more than deserve it because they add to the entire experience.
Sean (Shawn) was a great tour guide. The falls are spectacular, do not miss them. It's not a tourist trap yet. Go with a private contract driver-
tour company to avoid being stuck in a crowd. Crystal clear water, great photo ops. $20 entrance fee
We absolutely loved our trip to Mayfield Falls. We visited while staying at Couples Swept Away and it was a great experience. The guide took great care of us and showed us every step of the way. You climb upstream in the river and then walk back down along a trail on the side. We love hiking and adventure and this was a great experience.
We visited this place on December 2017. What an amazing experience! Oral was our guide and he was absolutely great! This place is better than Dunn's River Falls especially that it's not crowded. We had the whole river just for us, and it was just a perfect day in paradise
I love Mayfield Falls. The stairs at the end always kill me though.
Great staff.

These waterfalls are quite fast as you follow them upstream on foot,an invigorating adventure where you are also dive under the rock formation.
Wish I had more time here! The guided hike up multiple cascades and immersing yourself in different ways was unusual from the usual river flex. The turquoise water is clear & refreshing! Water shoes are required (available for rent), and the road in the hills is best taken with a high vehicle.
Do it. Ask for Byron to be your guide. Cost is $20 USD. Bring cash and a tip. Open 7 days per week, not closed on the weekend like the Google review. Bring your own water shoes. Leave the extra stuff towels, bags and whatnot in the car. No sunscreen necessary. Take pictures and enjoy!
The water is beautiful, clear, and pristine. Out guide Olar was the best! He knew right where to go, how deep it was.,.,etc. this was an awesome time!
I highly recommend this tour. Me and my travel buddy did this on our own. It was very hard to find but a local on a motor bike took us up to the falls as we drove behind him. The entrance fee goes back into the community to support the local people which we loved. The falls hike is great and all shady. The guides work for tips so please be generous as they are so great. Our guide knew every rock in that river and led us on a wonderful hike all in the river. Don't be afraid to venture out alone like we did and this is a great place to start. Enjoy
Amazing waterfalls immersed into real Jamaican nature, where you can walk up the multiple natural steps of the falls accompanied by the guides (this guys are awesome!!). During the walk you find natural pools where you can swim, jump into and even natural under water tunnels to dive and swim through. It's been one of the most worthy places I visited in Jamaica and I suggest anyone to visit these falls!
This hike is the most fun I had in Jamaica! I was worried, because I thought it would be a hot hike to look at and maybe play in a waterfall But nope! You start at the bottom river of the waterfall and hike up to the top IN THE WATER the whole way. It's shaded and super fun.
This is not your average tourist attraction. Here, you are able to see and be a part of the beautiful Jamaican land and culture. It was quite the trip up the mountain to get here, but getting to see all of the little towns and along the way was very eye opening and a great experience. It is amazing how different people in this world can live. Once we got there we were greeted by our tour guides who were all so friendly and welcoming. They gave us lockers to keep our stuff in. Those who did not have them had to rent water shoes. BRING YOUR OWN WATER SHOES!!! We were prepared and had our $5 pair from wal-mart while most of our group had to pay $10 just to rent them. It was quite the hike up the mountain but so much fun. The view was beautiful going up and coming back down. A fair warning: You must be in decent shape to climb up and come back down. I feel like that is a warning that should be given to tourists who are considering this excursion. When we got back down the tour guides asked for tips and were very greatful for anything we were willing to give. They were all friendly and funny the entire time. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch cooked on site. Like I said, this is not the excursion you should go on if you are expecting 5 start treatment, but one to go and enjoy the land and culture of Jamaica. WE LOVED IT!!!
I never leave bad reviews but I have to based on our experience. The tour on the way up the falls was great but when we wanted to go back down we were told we would have to give tip. It was $30 for the two of us to get in. To walk up the falls and so we offered that for him to take us back down. I am totally a fair person and we were willing to pay to go back down the falls instead of walking the trail. So we offered $30 That wasn't enough he wanted more. He was saying $50 or $100 is what most people leave that's unbelievable considering we paid $30 for the tour. I have never felt more taken advantage of then on this day! I then took my water shoes back I paid to rent and was talk to like I was stupid because I wanted to return them where I got them from and the man there was like that's not where they go. I'm not a mind reader buddy! All you have to do is show some kindness and you will win people over. I had an amazing trip to Jamaica the only bad day was at Mayfield Falls they need to work on customer service majorly!!! I would not go to mayfield falls again I would save my money and go to WS Falls way better tour with respectful staff that are not allowed to ask for tips!
The drive was very pretty, the falls we're OK, the guide hustled us for a big tip the whole time suggesting that we tip him $70 to $100 for a tour that we paid $15 per person for. I wouldn't recommend the tour no one wants to get hustled especially when you trying to relax on vacation. We love Jamaica and this doesn't happen much but when it does it a big turn off and gives the Island a bad reputation.
Nice river walk with some fun pools and small falls. You must have a guide and you will be wading and getting wet, so only bring stuff with you that can get wet. They have lockers for rental, and they'll try to sell you lunch. If you're driving, the parking lot and vendor stands are above the entrance, so you'll have to walk down a road to enter the restaurant/bar/entry area. Wished I had left more of my stuff in the car so I wouldn't have to rent a locker. Our guide, Lester, was great and a lot of fun!
