Went there for food only. I ordered a coconut milk veggie curry, but I couldn't find any coconut milk in my plate, just a really spicy curry. Still was good, and the watermelon juice was really fresh. It's a really "professionnal" place, you can easily understand it's a big business.

Stopped here only for food. Had a beautiful fried King Fish which had gorgeous green herb sauce. Vegetables were lovely and fresh. Lovely looking resteraunt too with an equally nice garden. Waiting staff are also really friendly and are quick to help.

Living and working in Treasure Beach, has its fine moments!
One of it is, to go for breakfast to Jakes on a regular Monday morning, when everybody else in the real world had to commute to or from work . Our commute is a leisurely walk from old wharf to the main entrance.
We know this place for many, many years, but recently we discovered for ourselves that having breakfast here is a real treat. It might come with age, that our walks now rather on daytime than in the evening.But sorry, I am loosing myself here..anyway we had breakfast not at pool side because it was wonderfully busy, we sat in the cozy, Artsy back with whimsical tables, beautiful greens and very nice people which are long, long time friends/guests of Jakes and Jakes family.
My french toast was crisp and moist,the fruit platter with fresh local fruits , my husband had an English muffin , hot coffee and we also enjoyed freshly squeezed orange juice.

Very nice staff and the hotel is full of character it doesn't feel like a standard resort, you get to experience real Jamaican hospitality. Love it!

What sets this place apart is the staff. They are truly amazing. It's been a little over a year and I still think about them often. I think about how Demarco the chef came to my table every night to see how the food was. I think about Trudi-Ann with her bright smiles. I think about how the owner personally checked with us to see that we were having a good time. It brings a smile to face when I think about how when my little daughter was bit by a wasp, the staff snapped into action immediately. Sandy, the life guard pulled her out of the pool and caught the wasp so that my 6 year old could extract justice from itand how the other staff came running out with band-aids, rum (to take the sting out) and fresh fruit to make a little girl happy. Everything about this place is absolutely perfect, the setting, the location the beautiful cottages. But like any resort, it's the people that make it work. Mr. Henzell's and company have made some beautiful memories for my family and I can't wait to come back.

Absolutely beautiful rustic treasure located in Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth. This beautiful hotel have rustic cottages strategically placed in a garden setting and along the outer most edge of the sea. All cottages are colorful and are adorned with unique artistic touches of sea life and recycling bottles. Staff is accommodating, professional and friendly. I absolutely adore this place.

We stayed at Jakes Hotel from 25/07/17 – 26/07/17 and had quite a few issues with our room.
1. Hotel was unable to find our booking
2. Biting ants and lizard droppings on our bed
3. Fridge not working
4. Shower drainage slightly blocked
5. Girlfriend got scratched by rusted rivets lifting off the bathroom door
On arriving at Jakes Hotel the receptionist was unable to find our reservation which resulted in quite a long wait. We had to email the reservation emails which we had from TripAdvisor to the receptionist so that she could find out what happened to our booking which was booked early this year. We was then given a hotel room which was upgraded so thought everything would be ok. On entering our room everything seemed fine until we noticed lizard droppings and biting ants on our bed. We reported this to the receptionist who sent the cleaner up to the room to check. At this point it would have been better to give us another room which wasn’t done.
On returning to our room that evening we found that the room had been cleaned and the lizard droppings and ants had disappeared, but as known with ants if you don’t find the nest they most likely to return which we found out and was waken up in the morning with ants crawling over our pillows and face. We have video evidence of the ants and lizard droppings as this should have been resolved the night before.
We had breakfast the following morning at Jakes hotel only to find that when my girlfriend’s breakfast was served it was cold so had to send it back to get it heated up.response / report this review -

We've been to Jakes 4 times now. Great staff, great views, peaceful establishment, an overall nice getaway. We love the ocean front villas and will be going back.

Uf you are in need of much needed rest well that is the place to do so. The hotel is exquisite rustic and beautiful. The staff is amazing. The area is safe and the people of treasure beach the best. I am planning my next trip we speak.

Sure the rooms are a little pricey, but overall Jakes is definitely worth it! I stopped in here spur of the moment, and was very pleasantly surprised. I'm usually a budget traveler, often using Airbnb, but when I walked in here to eat I thought why not stay! Spectacular, setting, very professional service, beautiful rooms, and great food. Drinks are quite reasonable too compared with many beachfront establishments. I recommend the Jamaican Mule for US $3.00.

Interesting place to go with great heritage. Very quirky but expensive to stay compared to some of the wonderful villas you can stay in locally. Why not save some expense stay in a local villa and visit for the day?

Great second-honeymoon for my wife and I. The views are amazing, the Pelican Bar was a must for the both of us. Loved the local farm menu and staff. Wished we could have stayed more than a couple of days. Would definitely recommend this over any all-inclusive as the experience was much more authentic. Next time, I'm definitely doing yoga with one of the groups that comes out. Only regret was that there were more activities that I could have signed up for that were part of the stay, but I hear their adding a boat ride to a off resort beach where one of the locals is building a bar and a bunch of beach related activities, so we'll be back for that for sure.
