The drive up is not for the faint of heart. The view of the city and the trails are great! The rain fell on my visit, but that's expected in the mountains.
The holywell recreation park is a wonderful place for camping or spending the day. The cost is reasonable and the atmosphere is amazing not to mention the view with is breath taking. They have trails that lead to rivers and hill side view with view the major city.
Holywell is cool all year round. Peaceful environment which allows you to relax and meditate. You breath fresh clean air.
The national park is the perfect natural retreat. With a choice of camping or cabins, you can choose wmhow you'd like your experience to be. The largest cabin has a fireplace and if you arrange with the rangers, they can have some smoke free firewood for it. Lots of trails to explore as well as the waterfall, if you want to get away from it all.this is a good place to start.
Great place to hike, camp and unwind. The Ranger is also very polite and takes interest in you and is easily reached. The place is very cold at nights so if you plan to stay over you would want to dress as warm as possible. Also taking a jog at this altitude is really refreshing you should try it. The toilet and overall facility is clean
I loved my time spent here. Beautiful nature trails. There were hummingbirds everywhere!! It was so good to see so many of them. The air was crisp, clean and the view was breathtaking. If you love to hike and would like to learn about the blue mountains, this would be a perfect place to visit. Pack a snack so you can spend time exploring. A nice pair of hiking boots and raingear would be useful for your visit as rains quite frequently here.
Scenic, beautiful and natural. Great place for grilling, camping, hiking, picnics or just chill. Wonderful view of Kingston on one side and the mountains on the other. Great place to spend an entire day
Excellent for nature lovers, fresh air, choice.of short or long hiking trail. Close to the city.
Been going here for over 10 years.. great place to escape to on a weekend to chill, breathe some fresh air, hike and bike.
Great for a get away from the city for a few days. WiFi is there at a cost, but why would you need it. Warm water and cooking area in cabin. Or opt for going out doors and setup tent. Only if you don't mind the cold.
I had to give 5 stars because of the scenery. Some of the best views are at sunrise if you can catch it. What are you waiting on? Go there already.
Holywell is one of few places that allows you to explore nature, have picnic or go camping at an affordable cost whilst providing good service. It's great for singles, couples, families and groups. Each hiking trail has its own characteristics. It's a good getaway from City Life, whether it be for a day or several days.
Holywell offers magnificent views! It's a fantastic location for picnics and camping, and a great trail for a workout. The trail, though fairly short in km, is quite challenging as it takes you up a steep incline along the mountain side, going over into Portland. I completely enjoyed!
It's important to check the weather before heading out however, as it can be dangerous getting there in the rain - I learnt this firsthand- and the clouds often block the view of the city once there.
Nature attraction
Tranquil & serene.
Great mountain road drive to get there. Must be a Jamaican driver! Interesting mountain side hikes (wear grippy shoes!), 3 cabins for rent, low rates, book months in advance. 10 gazebos for picnic and shelter, tuck shop for basics. Mist rolls in, rolls out. 10F cooler than Kingston. Cafe BLU and adjoining restaurant a great stop for lunch, coffee and sweet. Roadside parking only (Jamaican driver will know how to park).
Beautiful place
