  I have not stayed in Drake's guest house but I am in a local private home. Drake's is in a picturesque bay leading to the open carribean sea and being on a peninsula you have the sea front and back. The trade winds are wonderful and constantly keeping you comfortable without airco. This area is the quietest and safest area in jamaica. It is mostly a farming community and the people are warm and friendly. For the most part there are no tourists in this area so it is unspoiled and white people are accepted kindly, unlike other areas of the island. You will meet the true Jamaicans here in St. Thomas parish. If you wish to have a secluded and comfortable trip, guest houses are the way to go. They are usually 2 bedroom apartments and without all the add-on expenses are very affordable. Have an enjoyable winter get away. Take a month rather than a week or two at a resort for around the same money. Cheers
