Private beach club. You must pay to enter but it is a good deal for your money. They have a great food service with waitresses that will walk to where you are at the beach and get you what you want. Service is friendly and worth the price (which is acceptable). The beach is beautiful, white sand with light blue water.
Been going from I was a child. Amenities have been updated. I still regard this as the most beautiful, accessible and cleanest of beaches in Jamaica.
I have been to the beach part of this and it was great 8 dollars for a one day pass for the day. The water was very warm and it was see threw at least up to 6 ft. Under water. It was very nice and it was very clean there on the beach
This beach club is simply fantastic. It is great for your morning swims as it’s normally empty during the week days. It has breathtaking views, cool relaxing palm trees and the best thing of all is that it has a Starbucks on the beach. It has amazing white sand with clear blue waters. It has two docks that you can take beautiful panoramic shots of the property or just Instagram ready photos. It cost about 7 bucks to enter but you don’t have to leave the beach to get authentic Jamaican food. It has everything you need in one spot from the sand bar and grill. The meal prices are not cheap and are in the mid range but it is affordable.
Doctor's Cave Bathing Club is a beautiful private beach, right next door to Starbucks, where you can find chairs, umbrellas, beverages and food at good prices. Getting there may cost $20 to $50, depending on the business with the driver. Montego has some "approved" (unofficially) rates but it is possible to negotiate just asking. At Doctor's Cave each chair costs $6, the umbrella costs $6 and the water may cost up to $6 half a liter. The beach has showers, bathrooms and other facilities. The view is really really beautiful, with a deep blue sea and low waves that allow kids to play in the water. Must come here.
The beach was fantastic. Water was clean and beautiful. There was no current at all. Incredible.
Gorgeous clear blue sea but the beach is packed. Drinks expensive and tbe staff unfriendly. Couldn't relax cos of all the local guys aggressively trying to sell you Chinese tat!
If you're looking for that post card perfect beach, this is it. White sand, coconut trees, gentle waves and cool water. I visit every time I go to Jamaica (about twice a year).
Just get there early if the cruise ships are in and find your seat. They cram every visitor that pays onto the beach. If you want an ocean view, you better get 5 feet away from the water or they'll put someone in front of you. If you'd rather relax and nap under the coconut trees, don't expect to much of a beach view. If the ships aren't in, then don't worry and be happy.
Doctors cave is always a great experience. Locals and tourist mingle at this gorgeous white Sandy Beach and clear blue water. Local dishes are available at the restaurant and a wide variety of drinks. Recently a Starbucks was opened real close to the beach so here again tourists have something familiar
Walked here from Toby's Resort. There is an entrance fee here but it wasn't much (can't remember how much it was for sure). It was worth the price for sure. We had beef patties here and they were delicious. We did some snorkeling as there was a small bit of reef within the swimming area. It was the first time I ever snorkeled so I thought it was pretty nice, even found a live conch which I put back after getting pictures. There were changing rooms and places to eat and everyone working there was very pleasant and helpful. The floating trampolines are a nice touch for young adults and/or teens.
The bad is that about halfway out to where the bit of reef was there was about a 3 meter wide area of trash on the bottom at the sand. You couldn't see it from the beach, only when snorkeling, but it was enough to only give this beach 4 stars. Hopefully it has been taken care of since as otherwise the beach is very nice.
A really beautiful place, it tells an attractive story. The beach is white and the water is amazingly clear. People is so glad, we appreciated the attention.
I loved the beach! It was so beautiful. The sand area that we hung around stayed cleaned and we never felt harassed by any other beach goer. The only down side we had was standing outside the entrance waiting for our shuttle to return. Not a minute went by where we weren't asked if we needed a taxi or if we wanted to buy a CD. It was nothing bad, just felt a little overwhelmed.
This place is the place to go for smoothies, and salads. Also, has some great sweet potato fries. Cost is high, but well worth it. The Food is delicious, waitresses are so polite and very professional.
This is a great place to chill. Beach is beautiful and clear. Food and drinks are great, the bathrooms have enough space and showers for everyone.
Beautiful beach..very relaxing. Gets a bit overcrowded on the weekends but not a big deal. It is thought to have healing properties but not sure if that's just folklore. Nice chill spot for groups of friends or families, even couples. Food and drinks are overpriced though. Eat and drink before you go and bring your snacks and you should be fine! Water is clear and gorgeous.
This was a lovely beach to spend my time while in Jamaica. They serve drinks(I got a Frozen Bob Marley) and food for a reasonable price. They also have umbrellas and lounge chair for rent. The staff was very friendly! There were people walking around trying to sell you their wares, but they weren't overwhelming or pushy. There is also a giant blow up trampoline to play on out in the ocean! The water was crystal clear and so blue! Absolutely beautiful!
Great overall experience..Entry price is reasonable, chairs and umbrellas can be rented.. Once you get your spot..waiters appear to take food and drink orders. All major Credit/Debit cards accepted which is a major plus for me. Cash is required for the rentals. Snow Cones are available on the beach (many flavours to choose from)
The beach was nice, price was cheap. We didn't eat or drink here, but just enjoyed playing on the water. The bathrooms were fairly clean (just wet everywhere from all the swimmers) and the showers did their job. There were also plenty of taxi drivers waiting around, and I suspect the front deal could have hailed one if we needed to. Only complaint is that the sand is a bit rough, but you get used to it.
For a minimal price $6, you get a private beach with clean facilities and clean chairs and umbrellas. The beach is one of the finest I've have seen after visiting every Island in the Caribbean (it is well cared for). Be careful of the bar prices, they are quite high for cocktails or their signature Bob Marley and run lunch drinks. Many visitors go there for a one day cruise stop. It is perfect for a beach day, but be weary of the bartenders.
The beach is stoning, the facility is very well maintained. They also have live saver on duty. I recommend this for family and swimmers to practice open water swimming.
No trip to Mobay is complete without a visit here. Do order the fruit plate. Amazing.
Within walking distance of Montego Bay town centre and a very popular beach for tourists. You need to pay an entrance fee to get into the beach, $6USD per person just to enter. You can pay for a deck chair as extra. Inside the beach there are changing facilities and a cafe to get drinks and food.
Some of the best water in Jamaica. Beach is nice and secure. Staff was wonderful except for one waiter at the restaurant that initially refused to give me tap water but insisted I pay for it. Some of the best snorkeling on the island.
Perfect place to day trip off cruise ship - Do it yourself for 1/2 the cost
You can get to it from Falmouth for $25/pp chartering a shuttle and it's $8pp to get in. Umbrellas and chairs are extra. Food is good. Safe and clean.
Clean and well-maintained beach, good swimming. In January 2017, Bathing Club was charging $6USD or $600JMD per adult. Didn't want to pay the entry fee, and discovered you can enter the beach for free by going a little south to the BBQ Grill entrance. Asked the hostess near the patio entrance and she said there was no charge to go down to the beach. Once down on the beach, you can walk along Doctor's Cave Beach all the way up to Cornwall Beach. Park for free at the Kent Ave dead end up the street to the north, or to the south in the lot behind Burger King.
Awesome experience. It began from the customer service desk where the lady was very welcoming and helpful. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The food and waitressing service are very good. Security and life guard service was evident. The beach.AWESOME my family of eight which ranged from 6 years to very hard to please teenagers loved itthey had no problem staying off their phones for the entire trip👍👍👍👍😎. Will definitely return😊 good value for money. Please keep it up👏
