Swim in the river ,while your organic meals are being prepared ,by no other, than Calby himself , 100% freshly picked fruits, from the property that sits on the river banks, truly natures best.. I will always return to this beautiful place
getting there was a pain. The path was rocky so you may want to drive a jeep. However it's a hidden treasure a nice cool and calm place to hang out with friends or loved ones. The river is pristine and welcoming.
Owners are really nice, the place was very clean and well kept. They provide bathroom access for $500 per person.
The current is really strong at the some parts of the river, they kept us informed of how deep the water was advised us where to swim etc and had someone watching at all times. There are swings, see-saw made from the trees there, hammocks and large land for kids to play. You can "run a boat"(cook a lot of food) on coal pots for a nice country experience.
We brought our own food. They do not provide food for you !! They however gave us 2 coal pots in addition to the 2 we brought .
Secluded. My husband and I loved it here. We will definitely be back. Make sure to bring patties and rum. Thank you Junior!
The place is a hidden gem! Beautiful! You can get in the river right we you are sitting by. Clean, restrooms available. You and nature. Loved it!
VERY misleading - Do NOT waste your time going here; we travelled for just over 2 hours based on the reviews and it was a disaster - first of all Calby had no food, said we would have to wait 3 hours until he was ready to make himself dinner (it was around 1pm) we got out of the vehicle and after looking at the kitchen I would not allow my dog to eat the food cooked in that kitchen. We asked if we could walk around, take a few pictures (as the land was quite lovely) of my fiancee and our baby, Calby wanted $10 USD a picture!!! Oh man talk about a total waste of time, he just isn't prepared or setup to handle tourists, this is not a restaurant, it is not a cocktail bar, or some place you go to for a drink and snack, whilst wading in the river and enjoying the breeze, it is a run down building that feels abandoned on a piece of land he lives on. Be weary! **keep in mind the reviews below are mostly done by locals as a tourist do not waste your valuable time trying to find this place. There are far too many other things on the island to do**
Needs more infrastructure but the place is naturally beautiful. Ensure you carry food. Entry fee reasonable.
This is a setting for Camp. Office retreats and party. It has lovely lawn and picnic areas with a lovely river where persons can go tubing on the river. It is breath taking.
Very beautiful place but needs better road leading to the location.
The scenery is very nice. Clean river. And all around good experience
This is a hidden treasure in St.Ann Parish that is mostly known to locals, not tourists (not yet anyway..). Deep in the rainforest, high in the mountains, having passed all waterfalls - you'll find Calby's Place. This is a private property owned by a man, called Karl Calby Williams. He has a small bar and a jerk center there, but the most awesome thing about this bar - is the nature around it. There is a garden with numerous fruit trees, lots of hammocks, beautiful access to White River, where you can swim and jump off the shore OR swing on a rope. This place is also perfect as a camping site, but you need to bring your own tent. The bar is overpriced, of course :), BUT it's still worth visiting this place if you get a chance. Perfect to combine with Irie Blue Hole tour.
