+ The villa has a wonderful location in the Tuscan countryside close to San Gimignano. The view from the restaurant is magnificent.

- The hotel lacked any atmosphere and was impersonal. We were unable to use our balcony as it was overgrown with bushes.The waiting staff in the restaurant were inattentive and slow. It was over priced in our opinion and we will not return or recommend.

We visited the SPA of the hotel. Did not stay there. The staff provides an excellent service. We spent about three hours in the SPA. Nice veriaty of the saunas and bobble bathes for this area. We enjoyed it. Had a light lunch at 3pm, which is quite late for Italy. We had a salcicion bruschetta and polenta with wild mushrooms. Excellent food and service!

When we first arrived, we were taken to our room only to leave after two minutes due to the overwhelming odour of cigarette smoke. The receptionist then agreed to change our room. After we had unpacked, we went to Losteria restaurant to have lunch - my companion ordered a tuna mayo sandwich, but it turned out to be 5mm of mayo with mere sprinkling of tuna flakes. Absolutely vile! The pool area is lovely, but service at the pool bar could be improved.

Lovely facility, great SPA. Not exactly a 'typical' Tuscany accommodation, but the staff is extremely accommodating and more than compoensated for the differences. Highly recommended.
