All in all a great place but the metro is a nightmare to navigate. In general a few train tracks can be located too far from the entrance and their numbers should be bigger. Train boards used to display trains in two rows that switched but now it's just one row, so it might happen that your train is impossible to locate beforehand if you are there too early. The shops are not bad at all and you can chill in the upper level with an area where you can even charge your devices with power outlets. Could have been better but it's not bad at all.

An usual train station full of sketchy people, but I feel security could do a better job controlling that kind of people, one guy tried to ask me for money and I ended up cursing at him since he started following me. A lot of pick pockets just be street smart and if you don't have to carry your whole wallet don't do it!

With the recent upgrade of the facilities, Roma Termini has worn a far better look and security than it used to be.

This station seems to me, the center of Rome :-) Budget hotels, authentic Italian restaurants and sight-seeing tours depart from this station. Of course, you are in Rome, Visita Iglesia is a must. Sta. Maria Degli Angeli is just few steps away and the plaza is adjacent to the basilica. This station is THE perfect start to your Rome escapade. The station is a destination itself. It has restaurants, currency exchanges, souvenir shops and all other amenities. Just like any big cities in Europe, you will find armed guards/ police/ security walk around the terminal so you feel secure in this area.

Its a very scary area of Romemany pickpockets and thieves.if you are a tourist and happen to be there at night, I recommend that you stay in lit areas and take an official taxi. Also, make sure that you use an official taxi that is white and parked near an orange "taxi" sign. Illegal drivers will try to encourage you to take their cab for 20€a real cab will only cost 10.

The train station has lost of signs, where to go lost of machines where you can get your ticket. The station is also connected to the metro. Yea it's not the cleanest, lots of pickpockets and shady looking people but you remember that can happen at any station. Just stay aware of your belongings! The station is very busy and some times smells unpleasant.

Very crowded area. Attention! Please keep your money bag, leagues, mobile phone safe! Be attention to local thief gang. Most of them are young people. Please chose official taxi service that is economic (10€ as usual) otherwise you have to pay more. Try to buy online metro/bus ticket if you are tourist (online ticket is economic and hazard free). For security and safeness don't worry there are huge security, defense and police service available. It's a useful place to enter in the Rome actually.

I was most apprehensive when I last visited 15 years ago, because of its reputation for the hordes of pick pockets who preyed on passengers. Consequently, on my latest visit to Rome I wished to avoid it at all costs. However I was assured by a local agent that the station was now completely safe and patrolled by the military
However, upon our latest visit I saw no military, and not even an obvious police presence.

We decided to walk to the Trevi fountain from the station. I felt very insecure and on edge for at least the first four blocks on the route, due to the type of characters standing around in groups on the streets. My advice: take a cab from the station, even if your destination is only a short distance away

If you're going as a tourist there I truly recommend to reserve and buy a bus ticket online. From home. It is much easier than to search there. This station is so big. In every station you are going from the airport and return it is easier when you have already a ticket. 👍🏻
