This place is worth every penny. Great hospitality, nice seafood selection and big wine list from the region.

A hidden gem. Delicious food, but the best thing has to be the wine selection. You'll have a hard time finding a wine list this long anywhere in Europe.

Perfect for our dinner with friends. We did appreciatd that the owner(i think it was him) explaind all the meniu for us in english. Deserts were simply amazing. Olive oil self made and proseco were highly appreciated.

Conclusion: foodie.slovenia is based on reviewing Slovenias best and worst offers, but this time we were in Trieste and we just could not miss the opportunity to pay a visit to this gastronomical diamant, which has an absolutely wonderful location and amazing food! We visited them in early after lunch hours, so they were preparing for their evening service, but they warmly welcomed us and we were able to try out some of their starters and desserts. We were seated and instantly astonished upon the views on the valley Glinščica, castle Socerb and hill Montedoro. Wine offers in this Restaurant are amazing. The owner Giorgio Scabar is an sommelier, who takes a lot of interest in local and international wines, so we had an amazing opportunity to taste some true masterpieces.
Food was a 100% gourmee expirience. The gentle flavors and creativity of this masterchef were out of this world! "A visit here is well worth while" was written by Michelin guide inspectors. Foodie team tags this as a "must go!" To anyone who enjoys a true gastronomical art. We will be back soon for more!response / report this review -

One of many tasty bites at Ristorante Scabar right outside Trieste. We were lucky enough to spend the whole afternoon with the owner of the place, who personally served us food made with the freshest seasonal ingredients he had, and four different "wine courses" to perfectly match them. Every bite of this gastronomic feast was a delight matched only by the refined perfection of the carefully chosen beverages. I still want to cry tears of joy thinking about the experience! Needles to say we walked away with 2 precious bottles of wine.
