Expensive (very) but good. I am not sure it's worth it when you see the bill, but the zucchini flower is probably the best I have had sow far. The duck was great. Lamb good, but nothing exceptional. Dessert medium.

Had a nice casual lunch at La Chiusa. Service was personal and old world. A tour of the kitchen is encouraged and don't miss the bruschetta, rabbit and the view of Montepulciano.

Incredibly pricey and complete rip-off for tourists with pastas at 20 euro or more, not to speak of the Secondi piatti at 30 to 50. We were so horrified by the high prices that we just got one plate each and what arrived was nothing exceptional. The bread (you pay 3 euros for cover charge per person) was rock-hard and uneatible. Waste of money and not a gastronomic experience at all. A tourist trap like few others!

We've eaten out every night since we've been in Tuscany, and every restaurant has been exceptional, but last nights meal at Chiusa was the best we've had so far. We were treated to complimentary drinks, a complimentary starter, a tour of the kitchen, our meals split in two without us asking (we ordered one primi platti and were given two plates, likewise for the main course). But even without any of the above (which I can't imagine is standard when the restaurant is mega busy) it stood out as the best we've had simply because of the exceptional quality of the food. The primi platti of parpadelle with simple Tuscan tomato sauce (Dania sauce - after the chef) was the best thing we've eaten all trip. The pasta was being made in the kitchen when we first arrived and it was a thing of beauty to eat. Somehow it managed to be delicate yet firm, while the sauce managed to be both fresh and rich all at once. We were then brought a tiny plate of (complimentary) gnocchi with Tuscan ragu, that was divine. The gnocchi melted in the mouth, the ragu was sumptuous. Just amazing. The lamb main course was equally as good as was the panacotta desert. All in all a wonderful evening. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Very good location! Food and service are top! Prices a bit high. View is extraordinary and also the big garden. Dogs very welcome!
