Incredibly helpful and friendly staff is to be mentioned before the majestic panorama and amazing food. Either to stay, or to have a dinner or to have an italian "aperitivo", Hotel La Battigia is highly recommended in Castellamare del Golfo.

We've been there with my wife and had amazing sea food dinner at the restaurant. Service was good and the food was fresh, pasta with seafood contained lobster piece in each bite. would recommend going there.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at La Battigia Hotel. The hotel is located right on the beach, has a pool, restaurants and a bar. The rooms were a great size with an amazing view and balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff was welcoming, nice and very helpful. They helped us plan various excursions and provided numerous recommendations throughout our stay. The restaurant and bar located at the hotel had great food and a fun, energetic atmosphere. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sicily.

Location is great, right at the beach, and that's about all for this hotelwell, the beds are good as welland the restaurant (when open) is descent.

There is no other restaurant close by, just 2 bar/café. The rooms are ok, the place is a bit worn down on a general level.

But, the big no no's are:
1. The breakfast just consist of pre-made cereals, cakes and bread. No eggs, bacon or other stuff that needs preparation! It's a 0.5 star breakfast! After complaining 2 mornings we at least got some scrambled eggs.
2. They clean the pool at 10-11 am, just in time when all the kid families are there and like to bath. After telling the manager they now clean in the morning, a huge improvement.
3. You are not allowed to use the pool if you have put on sun-protective lotion since they then have to clean the pool side of the pool In the rest of the world it's ok, but not here obviously!
4. The manager let's his son and 5 friends go wild in the pool, all teenagers so that the guests have to be forced into the pool corners and/or leaving.
5. The restaurant close after lunch and open up at dinner again, in between you are directed to the hotel bar outside the main building. And the hotel bar is often out of food if you don't like to have ice-cream, croissant or beer.
6. The WiFi is not poor, it's totally useless and only work about 5 minutes per day.

This hotel has a view and beach location! Based on the price you pay per room it's a small robbery or you need to have your expectations set low!
