Right on the doorstep of Pompeii and tours up to Vesuvius. Very tight entrance & small pitches. Also fills up with cars using it as a car park. Safe and quiet at night
Great location real close to Pompeii. However i would highly recommend Ercolano ruins over Pompeii. It is not far. The hotel is less than a year old, real spacious, FANTASTIC PRICE, nice patio, GREAT BREAKFAST. One of the best breakfasts that we had. Highly recommend.
There is a private Parking that charges you 3 euro per hour. Don't pass the hour as they charge a full extra hour even for just 1 minute over. They are so bad that they don't accept credit cards or a banknote of 20 euro. Very rude guy at the entrance chewing gum and doing gestures. No English.
Went there for parking to visit the Pompeii scavi(ruins). Only 3 minutes walk away. Some places under tree. Fairly priced. Picture from the restroom in the camping section. Not more than 2 stars.
+staff spoke good English and was polite
-we weren't made aware that there would be a construction site literally right next to our tent.
They started at 7:20 am and they are talking really loud, hammering, using a wheel barrow
it's like they used our tent as a garage for their extremely loud truck up my face!
Unacceptable to have to pay money for this!
Restrooms dated.
Washing machine though. Washing machine isn't really clean (hair, paper). Cost ya 3,50$, tumbler for drying 3$.
Check out 2pm.
Apparently close to Pompeii sight. Will have to check that out.
This is 3 Star really but the location makes it 4 and an ideal base for tours around the Naples area. The facilities are very dated. We actually stayed here 40 years ago and some of the buildings are that old. But the staff are first rate and tours leave from the entrance to Vesuvius every day. The train station is just outside the gate and from it there is easy access to Naples in one direction and Sorento, Amalfi and Capri in the other. The entrance to Pompeii is just down the road opposite the station. The Archeological Museum in Naples city is Outstanding and is a must see. The juxtaposition of the beauty of the museum against the ugliness of the surrounding city is breathtaking.
Little campsite by the Circumvesuviana station Villa dei Misteri
We had hotel room on site, but suffered several problems as the building work was incomplete when we stayed there in July 16.
The room itself was spacious and clean with a shared balcony, bedding and towels were changed daily. WIFI was very slow, but has good data / 4g coverage, the fridge was a real bonus.
The town itself has few attractions other than the obvious excavations and few restaurants were open after the day trippers left, however it is a good location for visiting other sites as it has good connection to the Autostrade
Nice shady spots. Helpful staff. Near Pompeii, as well as a few restaurants
Really good camping, they have also rooms if you don't like to arrive by car or tent.
They have also a Restaurant and a little Shop where you can eat or buy things during the day, but it will be close in the evening.
The Camping has a 24/7 reception and the staff is always really friendly :)
