Overall, I would say that BAD is ok. The room was larger than some of our hotel rooms. The decor is starting to seem a bit tired and worn. We had an exterior, private bath which was ok but noisy with multiple keys and locks if you had to get up in the middle of the night. The water pressure and temperature was very inconsistent in the bathroom. It fluctuated between a firehose and a trickle, scalding to cold. The beds were VERY creaky and obviously sagged in the middle. It was very uncomfortable to sleep in the middle of two twins when pushed up against each other to make a king. The room's AC worked well and it was great to have a free communal bottle of water (and coffee) in the reception area. They do have a small communal rooftop terrace with views of other roofs and right next to other BAD room windows (if the occupants don't close their blinds you feel like you're intruding). There are laundry drying racks and lines up there, though I'm unsure if they have a washing machine. If you're a light sleeper, the doors are very thin and the locks and latches very noisy. Also, be aware that they are located on the third floor (US, second floor by other definitions) without a lift so they would not be suitable for anyone who cannot climb stairs or doesn't want to drag their luggage up multiple flights. They're located very near the Duomo plaza and thus fish markets so very convenient but the streets always smell of fish and seafood. Also, they do have a housekeeper that tidies up your room each day. Be aware as this is the first place we've stayed in Italy with housekeeping so I left out a glass bottle that I was taking home (next to my bag and clothes) and the housekeeper took it out with the trash. Finally, checkout time is 11am. We took that morning to sleep in but they started prepping for room turnover around 9:30am by stacking clean towels and sheets outside the door, turning on/off the hallway lights (the door has frosted glass panes with a cloth covering over it so you can see light through it from both directions), opening and closing the hallway door, etc. It felt to us like they were trying to "encourage" us to leave early.

Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from the main square. Rooms are cool though the layout is strange - but this has no impact really unless your bad with stairs. You get a coupon for breakfast for a place around 3/4min walk away. Delicious fresh cornetti (lots of flavours) and a coffee. Hosts were really helpful and pointed out lots of things on the map for us to do. Well worth the money. It is quite a way from the main station, but so is the heart of Catania.

We have unfortunately stayed for just one night in this awesome B&B. The rooms are large, nicely decorated and fully equipped. The personnel was extremely helpful. I strongly recommend this place when you're in Catania.
