Bad coffee, but friendly staff. Prices are absolutely ridiculous, even by Icelandic standards. We paid 1500 ISK for an Espresso and a Cappuccino.
A quaint place to access stokksnes
Greedy unfriendly owner, way to expensive for what it is, badly maintained (and unused) movie set.
Ordinary gravel road, and 800 ISK per person to just walk around a bit.
Avoid this place, instead just drive through the tunnel towards the west and take pictures from the Vestrahorn mountains from the other side.
Very warm and cozy cafe. Must try their hot chocolate!
One of the nice and small cafe. You can have here coffee snacks and much more. When is cold and rain these small places are our saving places.
Very enterprising owner. Friendly service. Unisex toilets. Big cake servings! Hot drinks essential in winter. Free WiFi! What's not to like?!
Very freindly people, and some of the best apple crumble I have ever had!
Okay, my girl and I (we're in our 60s) showed up ten minutes before they closed on a rainy late September day and ordered a slice of cake. It was really good and big enough for both of us.
But what sticks in my mind was the proprietor. About our age, great smile, very present. We decided we'd come back to tour the movie set another day. When we asked him if he had any suggestions for what to do on a chilly, rainy day, he said, with a twinkle in his eye, "You go back to the hotel room and pretend you're eighteen again".
Excellent suggestion!
The Cafe is cozy, modest and simple. You can warm up after windy walk and drink delicious coffee.
A lovely Cafe with friendly owner's! Very beautiful!
The replica Viking village (an old movie set that was never used) was not worth the entrance fee. Skip it for now.
The cafe is cosy and nice. The breakfast options are delicious!
The fee for the film set is not worth it yet, but they are building it up.
The unfriendly owners of the Viking Cafe make you pay a ridiculous price just to be allowed to walk around. An absolute shame! You have much better to see in this wonderful region of Iceland, don't waste your time here. The restrooms are also quite dirty.
Greed rules here. The ancient viking village is a film set that is not maintained, trek thru mud and horse droppings and planks with rusty nails to get thru the fallen gate. Cafe is super expensive and displayed prices are just a guide. Scenery is good on a clear day. Lost opportunity to make a great attraction.
The guy who keeps the place is just super nice.
The place itself makes me think of it every day. One of the most impressive views i have ever seen.
Coffee refills are free.
The people were very pleasant but the prices were EXTREMELY high compared to everywhere else in the country.
Like others have said, magical.
I don't understand the bad reviews about this place. The entire area is magical. The owners are friendly and the coffee and goodies are delicious.
I haven't had to have a chance to visit this place, but it's amazing hikes are there and one of the oldest villages of Iceland! This place is very magical!!!
This is the place you pay for the ticket to be able visit Stokksnes and the viking village.
