Náttúrulegur hraunhellir, magnaður staður. Aðeins fyrir fólk í góðu formi, í góðum skóm. Stórgrýtt í hellinum. Áhugaverðar mannvistarleifar. Umhverfi verndað, merktar gönguleiðir í hrauninu. Flott útsýni inn að Arnarvatnsheiði og yfir Eiríksjökullinn og Eiriksgnípu.

Klasse Höhle! Wir sind vom Parkplatz hoch gelaufen, das war ein langer Weg. Es empfiehlt sich auf alle Fälle pro Person eine Taschenlampe mitzunehmen und natürlich warme Kleidung!

We didnt actually go into the cave, but it was worth a trip just to see it and appreciate all of the lava from a different perspective.

Biggest cave I jave ever been into. We did park a bit more north on the street and entered it at the end. What I didnt know was that in between you cant leave the cave! The openings are spectacular but only a climber with equipment could get out there.. So we had to hike through all the way which took us a bit more than an hour. Good headlamps, hiking skills as well as a 4x4 car required!

We visited there around end of winter (Mar2016). The mountain road is rough (6km) and you MUST HAVE 4x4 car otherwise you cannot reach it. Place is amazing.

La verdad es que es un sitio poco conocido, o por lo menos no habíamos oído hablar mucho de el. Fuimos porque nos quedaba relativamente cerca y la verdad es que nos sorprendió bastante. Sobre todo el hecho de que las cuevas están conectadas entre si a través de túneles naturales. Una pasada!
