We were lucky enough to come off season, therefore few guests needed attention. We paid for a guided tour of the museum. We received much more than just a tour. Sigrun was an incredibly knowledgeable decedent of Snorri. She shared the story of Snorri's life as we walked about the one room museum. Icelandic museums always have some sort of flair/unique attribute, though they are physically rather small, the information is generally in-depth. This museum has a few pieces of that classic flair that should not be missed, including some archaeological finds, a center long-table for guestsamong other things. Icelanders are storytelling specialists, and Sigrun is no exception. There is an old medieval road off to one sideand more. Visit. Truly a cultural treasure. If you can go to Borgarnes' Settlement Museum right before visiting Reykholt, it will enhance your experience.
Just a quick stop for me.
Very fine exhibition and an excellent service from staff members.
Really nice. I love Snorra
Nice accommodations. It would be nice to have more outlets by the desk, for charging devices.
There is a very nice lady who works there. We were just passing by and decided to stop here and get our directions straight. The curator helped us greatly and gave many helpful suggestions. She also taught us a lot about Snorri Sturluson. There were lots of booklets and informative map packets to take.
This was a fantastic stop! Thanks for taking the time to make us feel welcome and a little more knowledgeable about Snorri Sturluson!
